I'm glad you found it useful. You can do a couple of things to figure out the keyboard shortcuts. One is to hover your mouse or pen over the tool you want to program and eventually the keyboard shortcut will show up. The other one is to go to the Help menu and type in Keyboard Shortcuts in the Search tab. I hope that helps ... rich

It will work with them for sure. Paint does not have any pressure sensitivity so that aspect of the Bamboo will be lost. As for Gimp I don't know. I don't believe that Gimp has pressure sensitivity. Rich

The tablets are the same (other than some cosmetics). The difference is what is included - The Bamboo Fun includes the software bundle (Adobe Photoshop Elements 5, Corel Painter Essentials 3 and Nik Filters) and a mouse - these are missing from the Bamboo. If you have the software then the Bamboo will do the job for you. Rich

Ha - you caught me! I have different needs than normal users I guess so I have installed all of them at one time or another. The one I use the most is the 6X8 Intuos 3. There is not an advantage to having multiples on a system but it can be done because the drivers are exactly the same for all of them. You are the first one to notice the multiple tablets ... Rich

Using the keyboard would depend on how you work. If you use a lot of shortcuts then perhaps you will still use the keyboard for some of them. You have 8 on tablet programmable keys and 2 on the pen for a total of 10 plus the two slide keys. I tend to switch between the Keyboard and the keys. You don't even have to use the keys if you are really good with the keyboard. What all this means is there is no correct answer - it all depends on you! Rich

It should work - the Cintiq is just an Intuos in a fancy LCD package. The set up screen should work exactly the same way. If it is not then contact Wacom Cust Service about it! Rich

HI - the keystroke for the default colors (Black and White) is D (for deafault, I guess). To change from one to the other as the foreground color hit the X key. I hope that is what you wanted ... Rich

o thats awesome. and yea everyone likes a different feel on their tablet, but make sure that your comfortable with the size. thats a really big issue with people, they either feel too crammed or they think that its too big. and i've been useing it for a couple of months now, probably 3 or 4. and if your in the us i suggest you go to a circut city or best buy and trying them all out (they have them on display)

OK... After NINE months of using screen protector for my Cintiq 21UX I finally decide to fight for my customer rights and yesterday I remove the protector from it. For theProtocol: After removal the Cintiq surface is clean clear and shiny like the new untouched one. There is no any trace or harmful consequences because of the applied screen protector. So now I'm going to try to remove any scratchy thoughts from my mind and see what's going on after only 2-years left of my European guarantee ;)

Right behind the LCD screen surface of any Cintiq lays one Intuos3. Because of that all input devices(pens) are 100% compatible between them. Cintiq surface is some kind of micro abrasive in order to recreate original friction strength between ordinary pen and paper.

Hey, first of all, great video. Now, I'm an at least semi-accomplished artist (sketching in particular) and I'd really like to transfer my knowledge from working on paper to working on a tablet. The Cintiq 12WX really caught my attention but I'm not completely ruling out Intuos3. I really like the idea of drawing directly onscreen but is it as precise as the Intuos3 (sans glass)?

My scratches are shallow enough that I can't feel them with my fingertips nor with point of the pen but they grow every single day and will be more and more visible in the future and this is inevitable. I make my own investigation and you know what there is thousand scratch resistable transparent polymers like for example LEXAN which is even bullet resistable... there is absolute no obstacles in front of wacom engineers to made even bulletproof Cintiqs...

Keep in mind that jitter and wobble of Cintiq cursor in the end of the screen is also one secret negative disadvantage so actually you can use precisely only the center of the screen. It happened because the elektromagnetik field around the pencil have perfect circle shape and when the pen is in the end of the screen the field form around the pencil is not perfect and Cintiq drivers try to center the cursor somewhere in the center of one very complicated shape in this case...

I personally wrote to wacom support and ask for any recommended protectors and they don't say nothing in this kind. I use screen protector for seven month and have no any problems. And how can I when my genuine high quality screen protector protects my Cintiq even from UV, it does not interfere with a touch display reusable and washable super thin, incomparable optically clear, fingerprint-free...

Just wanted to tell every one... DO NOT BUY A SCREEN PROTECTOR FOR YOUR CINTIQ OR WACOM TABLET!! it will permanently damage the sreen and the purpose of the screen was to be strong and sturdy....plus if u ask the people that work at wacom they all say that if you send ur tablet to berepaired an it has a screen protector which is what probably messed it up... it will end your two year warranty and they will send it right back...DO NOT BUY A SCREEN PROTECTOR!!!!!!!!!

Well, yes of course it's confusing if your screen jumpscrolls in very large steps. What you see is me drawing with the intuos tablet in photoshop cs3 and you see exactly what I see as I draw. So you see me drawing a squiggly line and some straight lines (using shift key with two points) and the second straight line happens to hit the edge of the screen, causing photoshop to jumpscroll down. Next you see me using the hand tool to scroll back again so I can see the lines I drew.

Hey, Alvado is right, it's the Cintiq range from wacom that actually has a screen you can draw on (and use as a second monitor etc). Intuos 3 is the next best range, although it doesn't have a screen, only a grey surface you can draw on. But that's not bad if you consider how many of the top professionals in art/animation etc use intuos 3 tablets. Cintiq is basically a luxury for those who can afford it and doesn't let you do much more than intuos 3(that said, I would love to have a Cintiq :) )

The painting is SOO BEAUTIFUL! I have a little question for you or someone .. I just bought the intuos3 wacom.. I get it in about tree or four days.. But I tough that intuos3 has a painting screen on the wacom. What I mean is.. A second screen so you don't have to look at the computer when you draw. Is that right? Does the Wacom Intuos3 has a screen on it? Where you also can see the thing you are drawing? Please answer my question.. Thank you! =) p.s. Sorry for my English, It isn't so good..

Well the first problem is that it is not a Wacom tablet (Bamboo or Intuos). Having said that - yours should recognize pressure. Did you install the drives that came with the tablet? They are necessary to tell Photoshop that a tablet is installed. If nothing works then maybe you can return the tablet and get a Wacom. Good luck and let me know if any of this helps ... Rich

There's an area on the tablet that matches the screen on your computer and you use the tablet pen basically draw within the active area like normal, except the image is on the computer screen and not on the tablet itself so it takes a while to get used to. There is another version of a tablet where the screen shows up on the tablet and you can draw directly on it but its super expensive >> Hope that helps ^^

well, my tablet is the intuos model so it does not show up on the tablet itself, its just on the computer screen XD I think the only one where the screen shows up on the tablet is the cintiq model.
