I have thought of the exact same thing. I think there are but a handful in the WWE that could handle all of these guys. That's not to say they could exactly handle them. Triple H for starters, for his strength and technique. Shawn Michaels for his technique, history, and agility. Batista for the strength I guess. I'm not sure who else, but I have had that though before.

I can see Kobashi getting over even in TNA or WWE no matter how much they fuck up their initial pushes of him. Like Samoa Joe, he has a natural aura of badassness that the fans just notice by looking at him. after seeing what this mofo does in the ring, hes more over than all of the roster. i can see kobashi vs undertaker being a classic, especially considering how much UT has stepped up his game. ANy wrestler that can go hold for hold with Angle is a great wrestler in my book.

u need to shut up because this wrestling is real and it's 100x better than american wrestling so why won't shut sucker actually no professional wrestling is "real", japanese wrestling just hold it to a much higher standard than companies such as WWE do. They risk everything they have to put on a good match. The outcomes are determined and their not really trying to hurt each other. But it is not "fake" like some of these ignorant people say.

I almost totally agree, but I wouldn't go so far as to say he sucks, but he's DEFINITELY not as good as people say he is. I agree with all your criticisms though - he is sluggish as hell and his moves do look totally slow and telegraphed, unlike, say, Jimmy "Wang" Yang or John Morrison in the WWE, whose moves look crisp and sharp. Also, Pepsi Plunge was killing Punk's knees, so he had to quit it. And the Destroyer does suck, not as bad as the some others, but bad.

Punk in WWE does seem a little lost in the ring. He's getting a hold of their style, but he's still not great there. I can't help but feel he'd be much more relaxed as a heel, which would definately help him get a better feel for what he's capable of. People like to shit all over the Canadian Destroyer for being unrealistic, but... it's wrestling. 90% of everything that happens is unrealistic to an extent. Even a vertical suplex would be impossible.

meh..CM Punk may have "stolen" the GTS,but think about it you could say that Arn Anderson stole the DDT from Jake the Snake Roberts. This match wasn't the best. It's probably the most simple match you'll ever see with 3 veterans in it, but the language barrier stopped eveything from being too complicated. The hot tag was the lamest hot tag EVER in proffesional wrestling, as it looked like they messed up the move to lead up to the hot tag. I wasn't expecting much from this match, but even with the low expectations I had, this match wasn't much.

The most moving non-fighting episode in my 13 years of watching pro-wrestling. He's not fulfilled his promise of return yet. I really hope he would give up the idea cuz that is probably too much for one with cancer. But i can't help also hoping to see him fighting again. Just goes to show you what you can accomplish with hard work ethic and goals. Kobashi had to do a lot of "back scrubbing" in the business under his teachers and lost his first 63 matches. He went from underdog to being one of Japan's most celebrated wrestlers. A true role model.

I have learn so much from watch these two great. every time they meet to me was epic.. nothing and I mean nothing can touch what they do in the match can match it,, WWE not even close, ROH almost there but not yet,, IWA mmm maybe FMW but not this style. Ok, this is from Kenta Kobashi/Tamon Honda/KENTA vs Yoshihiro Takayama/Go Shiozaki/Takuma Sano in april 2008. Anyway, if you know anything about Shiozaki, then youll know that he was Kobashi's protege. I love the bit where Shiozaki is chopping Honda and looking at Kobashi like he's taunting him. The punk. Takayama improved in leaps and bounds when in counted, with the NOAH move. Also, I expect that since there's so few legit Japanese heavyweights around, Misawa will happily take a guy Takayama's size any day. Also I realise now this video in particular is heavily clipped, so it was probably a well built match. A TKO can cause some real controversy, and stirs the coop heaps. Like you said, its more beneficial than it is detrimental.

No argument here. I'm not a big mark for Omori, I just liked him better than Takayama (keep in mind, I'm mostly familiar with their late AJPW work). I know Takayama got the push (Misawa, like Vince, loves big guys), but I haven't seen his main event work (I avoided it originally, since I always thought he kinda sucked). I think the occasional TKO finish is good for puroresu in general. It adds more credibility to the sport than it takes away from the guy who got knocked out.

Haha. Fair enough. But still. I actually think he was the lesser of the 2 in retrospect. All he did was that Axe Bomber, more or less a lariat the way he did it. And maybe a dragon suplex or three in a row. Not to say his stuff in Noah wasn't great. Just that his more recent stuff... most definately isn't.

Omori was the better half of No Fear IMO, but I don't think this really hurt him. It's not like he was being pushed as being on Kobashi's level as a singles wrestler, and part of Kobashi's whole thing is that you just don't piss off Kenta Kobashi. It simply isn't done. :)
