This song and performance from 15 years ago is the perfect example of why rock and the music industry in general is dead. You will never see another wave of bands like Mineral/Promise ring/Cap'n Jazz/JoanofArc again. It makes me sad that this period of music is over and that it happened so long ago. I'm 30 now, and hearing and seeing this video makes me feel so much older.

I don't believe that. 'Thoughts' makes perfect sense in the context of the song, because I would say most of Simpson's lyrics aren't literal. He was being figurative. Of course it'd make no sense literally.

descriptions of theses minerals are rather poor, even for an intro class. When you're in the field you'll need more than the knowledge of streak color to help id, in fact most of your minerals will be too small and you'll end up relying on its appearance instead.

Sorry if I came across as caustic. I might add one more disclaimer: the sand paper is an alternate to and not a replacement for- the streak test--a novel one I might ad. Some sand papers are garnet/emory hardness 6.5-7.5? some are carborundum Mohs 9. A streak plate can be a piece of scrap white ceramic floor tile. The streak color is a standard element of ID when made on a white unglazed porcelain tile. Understand but sidewalks don't give a pure streak color. Silicates won't streakMoh6+

thanks for commenting on my video-- i have made the basic changes-- i still recommend teachers to use sandpaper or a sidewalk--works fine for common minerals and it has no cost and the students can prove to their friends that they have pyrite and not gold by scratching on a convenient sidewalk

i have had this video edited -- mica, calcite rhombs, lead sulphate, calcium is in the mineral hydroxyapatite for the mineral of teeth--i tell the teachers to use sandpaper for the streak test or i tell them to send their kids to the sidewalk to streak their minerals on the concrete sidewalk--this works fine for the basic minerals--streak plates cost money-- Thanks to Mstreman53 who suggested i make some changes

Sorry if I don't fawn but there are almost too many errors in this video to cover--Mica not Myca, Rhombs are cleavage planes, not crystals, sand paper is not used in streak testing and apatie is the mineral of the teeth... Galena is lead sulfate not lead. The orange calcite has been acid washed that is not a crystal surface. USE this video with caution.

man i miss those days...will still be listening to this when im fifty. i feel bad for those who never got to see mineral. i remeber him having to use a pair of needle nose plyers to tune the the high e string. and it was about 150 degrees. we were all soaking wet but still one of the best shows. they played with jejune and the get up kids. classic.

contd Anyway, I haven't disregarded my own argument or became an 'ecovillain', I would deny emo in the sense that it doesn't describe the music, for me it describes a scene which such artists fall into. Do you not think you're being a bit hypocritical, using indie? That's another term which is thrown about so loosely nowadays, it was originally used to describe an ethic, now it's used to describe a style of music. I'd consider Mineral indie, of course, but I believe their style is post-hardcore.

I am and have been in a few bands, I haven't had that exact experience of someone coming up and telling me "your band is emo", but to be honest, I wouldn't get that upset over it whether I agreed with him or not. I would know what type of music my band plays and considering most indie/diy styles like this, the people who actually listen to the band would generally get it right. This is what I was saying about collectivising/having a communal feel to the genre.

I think it is you who is having a hard time understanding; that is what I've been saying, it doesn't matter what you call it, or whether you like the term or not, that's what a majority of people call it, and it does make for easier relation and collection of such artists creating this style of music. I know many 'emo' artists would deny such a term, as would I. However, I will not deny that it does make factors such as relating and collectivising easier for everyone.

I don't see any difference between you wearing maybelline and wearing, say, chanel or mac or whatever you and other make up youtubers here like to use. I've been using the liquid foundation for over a year (and there's still product left..) and I think the coverage's great, I don't need a concealer. I've been using the liquid foundation for over a year now and had no problems with it. I can sleep in it and it won't break me out. A few months ago I purchased the loose powder as well and it is great too. When I need a new concealer I want to try the one from this line as well. I found this foundation was pretty full coverage. I love it and don't think I'll be switching foundations anytime soon!!

It would be better to use an aquarium pump to make the oli circulate, to take all the fans off. Then it will be better to take the HDDs out of the oil as well as the cd players. If you want to cool your computer at best without making it cool (XD) it's better to do it as I said. but then you'll need two power supplyes (one for the pump and one for the PC); you'll need also a lot of silicon for the plexiglass parts to do it well.

@ubxp As a matter of fact you are correct, you will get the oil 'wicking' in the cables, the most effective way to prevent this from happening is a short extender cable for the power cord of which one end is attached to the longer cable which goes in your power socket, and the top (back) of the motherboard sticking out above the oil level. A solid state drive will work perfectly fine when submerged, HDD's however should not be submerged in oil.

Some will feel very soft for the first time, but usually after a couple washes or uses, I end up throwing them out. I recommend using separate brushes...like ECOTOOLS(THE BEST BRUSHES EVER)

@ilhubyooh almay the natural one you can find it in drug stores...useally what i do is i wear the netrogena sheer touch sunscreen in spf 30(if you go more than spf 30 theres too much chemicals) then i wear the almay natural makeup thingy thats a liquid base its 97% natural ingridients then i wear the this on top of that as a setting powder...eyeshadows dont really matter you can even get it from the dollar store but dont mess around with your face its to precious.

@ilhubyooh i am 17 too...i never used to wear face makeup only eye makeup when i started heavy foundation (revlon colorstay/MAC) i started breaking out ALOT....my mum is 40 but she looks 55 because shes been wearing makeup since she was 17...Makeup has a BIG affect on your skin invest in a good mineral foundation(like this one or MAC minerlize makeup) Also watch your moisturizer there are alot of chemicals i use yes to carrots 97? natural its realy good and if you want liquid makeup use almay

After watching all your foundation videos thus far, I swear you could put anything on your face and have it look flawless. You have gorgeous skin. Well, you are simply gorgeous regardless. your feedback is great, the reason why other brushes don't work as well because they aren't made for bare minerals, the specific bare mineral brushes are designed specifically for bare mineral foundation, they are designed to hold the minerals and disperse them properly. Also, you need to wash your brushes at least once a month, that might be why your flawless face brush is "stiff" because it should be soft.
