i studied with him back in 1987-88 at the drummers collective in n.y.and let me tell you it was the most valuable lessons i ever had ,he also paid me a compliment in front of Steve Morse and Dave Larue after a club bene show about my foot speed when we were trading fours and soloing at the collective UNBELIEVEABLE!!!!!.........I also had the honor of meeting Michele a few times very classy people!!

I took a few lessons with him back in 2004. If there is one thing I learned about the guy is that he loves playing the drums, and he passed that down to me. I didnt learn technique from him but the little things that influence your sound more than technique. Great guy too, amazingly good teacher and overall great person.

I was there and perhaps you had your ear plugs in. Maybe you just don't get it. Oh by the way, how many grammys have you been nominated for, probably less than Lavitz' six. Oh and have you played with Bruford, Steve Morse, All the band members of Chick Corea Electric Band, Widespread Panic, Billy Cobham, Alphonso Johnson, Danny Gottlieb, Bruce Hornsby, Dennis Chambers, Jeff Berlin, Jaco Pastorius, and many more. So maybe you are right and they are all wrong, probably not.

Attending the 5 week program for jazz piano was sick but lavitz played during a perspectives class and just ruined it, he was a terrible soloist and had the worst improv i've ever heard...(it was some gretsch promotion concert)

Amazing song. These guys were SO severley underrated. Awesome musicians, singers and writers. Unfairly lumped into the whole "Hair Metal" thing that went on in the very early 90's. Winger deserved better. Glad to see tho' that they're still together and touring.

Awesome vid -- I saw Winger live at the Bronco Bowl in Dallas - 1987 - they blew the lid off the place. They were loud as hell, and super tight. Excellent musicianship. Saw Metallica at the same venue later in the year. They actually dissed Winger by name in their show. And they were lame -- bad PA system, lots of feedback, and Hetfield blamed the venue for the sound problems...
