I know what you mean. The rice only takes about an hour if I do it on the normal setting on my cooker. Rinse, add water, and push a button. The rest depends on ingredient prep, but if I make an assortment, it usually takes as long as cooking the rice. Then another 15 minutes after that. Pro's are a lot quicker though

I was transported back in time when I was screwing around with my microwave. I learned how to cut fish into "gobbits". This is an authentic dish from 1374. Crazy as it sounds, it's damn good! Here's the recipe.
