that's a pretty quick reply, I guess you're online. =) okay, maybe I conceived it a little as what they've achieved in the film industry, as opposed to acting skills alone. On that one, I think De Niro's just about at the top, no question. Ability-wise, from the active ones probably Pacino also makes it. Tom Hanks is pretty good, but maybe Jack Nicholson is an elite actor too, all-time. I don't know much about old timers beyond Brando, like Humphrey Bogart, for instance. =)

wow so original and clever i'm sure critics will probably be a little hestitant to rate these tired old overrated actor's little project as the greatest film of all time

I'm not just saying this because I have an Italian background but these guys are the best two living actors in my opinion, I aspire to be half as good as these two in my acting career and I owe these two guys everything. I love them both. Legends.

yea, you're right, it fits the characterisation. I still found Pacino more endearing as a result, who's character was very human, but that's the way it goes.

Agreed, two titans that will probably never be put in such a good contrasting script again. Not to get too artsy but the silence speaks more than the words in this scene. Definitely one of my favorites.

If Pacino's Vince Hanna character seems to have more presence, it's because he isn't disatached from violence the way DeNiro's Neil McCauley character is. Hanna is haunted by the innocent people he has seen killed. McCauley denies himself emotional attachment -that is until he meets that woman. Having said that, I like the way DeNiro portrays McCauley's intelligence; weighing each thought and action like a chess player.
