Buddy Rich are all way better drummers than Travis!..I aint hating on the guy.. Pretty overrated drum company. I only like it because of Atom Willard. But Pearl, Tama, Pork Pie and DW make same kits that are about 60% of the price of an OCDP kit. I do admit they have great sounding snares but thast about it. They are very very overated only due to Travis Barker. I like Truth drums better than OCDP.

ha i played on my friends ocdp it SUCKS MAJOR COCK like honestly the thing still sounds pretty horrible even when tuned properly.. i will give them credit that they do make pretty nice snares but they NEED to work on gettinig better tecnique for the set because there sets sound pretty bad... i think they focus more on looks rather than the sound.r c&c are definately high quality but perrsonally my favorites would have to be Outcast Drums, DW, and SJC...

C & C is comepletely custom and their drums sound amazing. It depends on what style you're planning to play and how much you want to pay really. I've played their drums with the 45 dgree baring edges but they offer other options as well. If you want to hear how they sound recorded just check out their roster. Thrice's newest installment may be a great example of how they sound recorded. They are however "ringy" since going for the vintage sound, you may wish to apply some kind of dampening.

I honestly can't tell you for sure man. I know around where I live in Canada a couple different stores carry their stuff. They have a spot on their website that'll tell you about dealers near you, however as most of their stuff is custom you probably won't find what you want in any of the stores, as everything needs to be ordered from C&C.

OCDP and DW are diferent types of drum manufaturers DW does have some hi end shit let me tell ya and OCDP probably should think to maybe drop the prices just a lil bit ....but OCDP is more of a "custom" type drum manufacturer as DW has like different models to choose from and different fineshes(that are very limited campared 2 OCDP's) as far as the argument on snare vents WHO GIVES A FUCKING SHIT!!!!!! that is all.

Oh and ofcourse vents will change the sound of a drum. they make your snare louder with a sharp crack that is made to be tuned high. Thats why I have both vented and non-vented OCDP snares.

Yes they are expensive, but a big part of that is that they are really high in demand, it will take you 6 to 9 months to get a kit from them, so they must be doing something right. Get fucked dickhead, dw use keller ply also except they have thier own shell press and segment the the plys so no one ply is met and thats how all high end quality drum makers should do, Shit creating a hole into a snare drum thats some high tech shit going on thier and venting a snare kills the sound obviously your just an amatuer and have not got the ear to hear such a difference and DW will build you a kit to your specs , Plain and simple Orange county are a rip OFF

um Dw and OCDP dont use the same shells. WHat makes an OCDP stand out is their finishes and looks, Vented snares, multy holts rings on bass heads, lugs, long bass drums, and all the other things drum companies try to copy!. They use keller shells which are high-end good soundding shells, specially with the hand sandding and bearring edges the OC guys do. Besides DW's are like Hondas' evrybody has one!

ocdp's are so kl the way they are made to ur very own specification. but the prices are quite high, but if u really hav a passion for drumming this a type of kit make u go for to, weel stand out from the crowd, i dnt personnally have one i have a pearl ELX. wjich is a lovley kit to play on but wen i hav the money to afford a kit like one of those ocdp ones im so buying one. anyone has there own opinion but my opinion is they are the best make around not forgtting dw drums and maybe pearl kits.

MY kit just came in and its emazing. deff worth the money and the wait. I get so many compliments its rediculous. Yes" they are maid with keeler shells like other kits, but drums are like cars- altho all cars are made up of metal and plastic, A BMW stands out in looks and performance compared to a HONDA, but "honda owners" will argue forever that they are the same quality! haha. drums are the same, thats why I got an Orange county..

i think drums same as any instrument the sound is a preference, wvery drum sounds the same and ocdp do have a certain sound to them, although they are defo expensive i wouldnt have brought mine but i fount it cheap on ebay, i was going to buy a pork pie little squeeler kit in my opinion the best priced kit ever very cheep and sounds great.

OCDP drums are a little pricey and in my opinion not worth it. OCDP uses the same shells as ddrum and pork pie but they just jack the price for the paintjob. In my younger years i ordered an orange county kit but ended up cancelling the order becuase a year later i called and they didnt even start making the kit yet. For a 22, 12, 16, and 14 snare it was 5,600$ with a type one paint job (the cheapest). I cancelled the order and got a 8 peice DW kit for 2 grand cheaper and LOVE it.

Well drums come 2 ways well actually 2 different measurements those toms are what u call Fusion sizes. Regular toms go 10, 12, and 14 inches although the toms he uses are infact Fusion sizes that one is a 14 inch.

If you're referring to bass drum reso heads with OCDP logo, you can purchase those off their website. Otherwise, all of their stock heads that come on their kits are standard Remo heads with their logo printed on them. Which then you might as well visit your local Guitar Center or something and buy regular Remo heads of your choice. =]

It's all a matter of preference man. The 5000 is considerably cheaper, although the 9000 have alot more adjustability and features. If I had too choose between the two, I'd go for the 9000 (for obvious reasons) it can do pretty much everything the 5000 can, and then some. But if you're looking to save a couple dollars, then I'd say go ahead and pick up the 5000!! Both are fantastic pedals either way. =]

It would be awesome though. and I havent played on the OC kits at guitar center just one of the snares. The snare sounded decent. The mounting on the toms for the kit seemed a bit weird though. I guess its good for someone who would want an OC kit but not pay as much for one.

I have. I got my OCDP snare from Guitar Center. I love it! I will admit the drum sets that OCDP started mass producing out of Taiwan are junk. I don't know why they are making cookie cutter drumsets. It goes against what the company was founded on I think. The reason OCDP is cheaper than SJC is because the guy who works drums at my local Guitar Center knows someone there or something and said he could get me a deal. I told him what I wanted but he's yet to give me a price quote. So we'll see.

Went back to the SJC Drums page and did the design your kit and the kit I want is $6,133.00. The hell with that man. I could get the same thing from Epiarch or OCDP for cheaper. Plus I've heard SJC is in the middle of a copyright infringement lawsuit with OCDP. Something I heard that could be a rumor but it just doesn't sit well with me.

I agree with most of what you say. They just started mass producing kits for Guitar Center that come from Taiwan. Major turnoff. I like my snare since it's made from their California shop but I fear the days of their quality are coming to a close due to expansion and mass production. Ugh! It just sucks cuz no other custom drum company has great quality yet like OCDP had in their heyday and OCDP is slowly turning into cookie cutter drumkits like Pearl and Tama.

I checked out SJC awhile back and don't like them. Epiarch has the price I like and OCDP has the quality I like. SJC is sort of in the middle. They have mediocre quality but cost more than Epiarch. I don't like their lugs either or their snares. All they endorse is screamo/scene bands and that turned me off of them right away. Plus Epiarch has great customer service and SJC doesn't even have a section on their page for me to contact them about endorsements, service, or pricing.

I've dreamt of owning an OCDP kit for over 6 years now. I just finally picked up a 15 ply 6x14 snare with 4 vented holes at Guitar Center for 367 bucks. Even with stock heads it sounds amazing. I want to get myself a full kit still but don't have the funds for it. Was thinking of getting one from Epiarch. I want 10 ply birch since I play death metal and mainly want volume and not so much resonance. Any suggestions on which is better since they both use Keller shells?

Yeah there's loads of OCDP snares that are unvented the vented ones are more 'massed produced' by OCDP. i'm from the UK, Poole percussion has a few unvented ones in. If your from the US you have a lot more choice than us! this is my old kit, I've moved to Mapex now. Black panther snares all the way for me now.

I tuned it up mate, but i found it was quite versatile. The vents in it though do give it a dry crack, no depth really however you tune it. a shell resonates, if you put 4 great holes in it this will limit the resonant qualities. Does your snare have vents?
