These Trucks are so enourmus compare to the trucks i'am used to see! you guy's are so lucky over in the state's , you can have a rig that big and still work it . over here in australia if you had a rig that big you wouldn't get a pay load on and you would never earn any money. i wish i could have a drive of a peterbilt , let alone own one that big. thats awesome man!!!

At the "Fuel Island", like where YOU could get water and air like back in the '70's and '60's (maybe 1980's), while YOU are Fueling your TRUCK, YOU put the water hose into your WATER TANK and you suck as much water into your reservoir as possible. Also - truck generators on the side behind the sleepers are supposed to only use 2-3 gallons of fuel per day. Provide electricity for your pumps to pump your WATER to your shower, heated by electricity -HOT WATER HEATER - or diesel fired boiler, eh?

I work on car commercials in Hollywood.I met a few Allied drivers when we do car shoots.They bring the picture vehicles to film in these enclosed trailers that you see.When they park they get people taking pictures of the rig and not the new car that is coming out next year they haul.lol.Keep On Truckin'

Sorry I am not the creator of the tape but I am also from Australia and maybe can just help out a bit. There is a clutch pedal and it can be theoretically used for all gearchanges (though the pedal is rather heavy and for how many gearchanges you could need it could become quite cumbersome). The gearboxes I guess are identical here with the 13 and 18 speeds and the shift pattern is not as hard at it looks. Mr. Suth's "Shifting a 18 speed" video provides a pretty good demonstration.

there is a clutch, and yeas an 18 speed uses the splitter button in all gears. That's the way it's been for a while I guess. I've driven four years and that's what it was then, before don't know that well. If you watch me " Gearing an 18 wheeler" video, it may help you understand it alittle better

Detroits are one of the most reliable engines ever. The ISX is a piece of crap. I had a Freightliner with a cummins N14 in it and I had to replace it 3 times in 10 years. I have a 1985 pete 379 with a Detroit 8V92 in it and I havent had a bit of trouble out of it.

ooo, tough guy huh? Get over detroits already... they are out dated pieces of shit. Plain and simple. The ISX is a far superior engine in any regard, to any detroit. The C-15 is as well. Fuck, I'd take an N-14 or a C-12 over a series 60 or 50 anyday. Believe me, I'm glad I don't have to work on them on a regular basis... in tech school was bad enough.

In the fire department that i belong to, we have a 1983 seagrave pumper, and a 1996 seagrave ladder, both with 8v92ta's. The ladder does have a jake on it, but the pumper doesnt. Boy do they sound amazing when they are in action! All pure engine sound, no turbo whistle or fan growl on those babies:)

Matter fact i just deliever there not to long ago. They took for every to get me unloaded. Got there early expecting too get unloaded early, but come too find they dont take early deliever. So had to seat there and wait to later that night. but it wasnt that because they give you a pass so you can leave and come back anytime down there. I really enjoy there tho i must say.

They over boost the fuel pumps dumping into the hot engine, tons of kerosene. For no real reason other for special effects. It's stupid actually. JP4 is hazardous modified kerosene for jets. I assist the airline pilots telling them play by play every move that happens while they cold start, and I mean freaking 30 below zero cold, and then they smoke. Smoke is raw fuel vapor unburned. I'm surprise Holland's government allows it misused.

going back to montreal from L.A,i took a shortcut through arizona just east of phoenix to save some miles. amazing scenery but no much room between the passenger side and the bottom of the canyon!! a lot of fun with a 53ft trailer. hell of a job to drive a semi down those curves and film at the same time. no passenger to help me there.

The 435-625hp C15 engines are all governed (outside of speed limiters) to 2100 RPMs, so the RPMs don't mean jack in relation to the power ratings. We have a C12 that only goes to 1850RPMs. Shifts just fine. Just harder to skip-shift. The torque and shock load is what can break a trans, outside of a crappy driver that can't shift worth a damn.

rpm's have to do with tranny's and yeah it has to be able to deal with the torgue ur making but rpm's have to have to be able to get the tranny up 2 gear if not it would not go. in my years in tech school i did 4 overhauls with trannys and 3 of 4 just switching trannys out of trucks

Has nothing to do with RPMs. Just torque. If you have a 13spd, it is probably a RTLO16913. Rated @ 1650 ft/lbs. Need a trans that is rated for 1850 to go to 550hp, or you need one rated @ 2050 to go to 625. The 435 also needs some other upgrades besides programming to go to 625. Bigger injectors and turbo at minimum.

I'm a Paccar man, but I don't think the Scania engines are all that bad. Have run them in farm tractors before. A Big Cam Cummins has more torque, though.

The 14.6L 3406E can go to 550hp. The 15.8L 3406E goes to 600. 14.6L C15 goes to 550 and the new 15.2 ACCERT goes to 625. As long as you have a transmission rated to 1850 tq, you can uprate a 475 to 550. You had to go to the 18spd at the time, if you wanted 550 in a 3406E. Now you can get heavy 13spds like what I have (RTLO18913A), and have 1850tq, instead of 1650.
