To be really honest though, when I got my new Dell Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz T7200 system, I was expecting alot of improvement over my older Pentium 4 531 desktop. Believe it or not, I didn't expect much. E.g, running a virus scan whilst browsing a Flash web page pretty much maxes 99% of my two cores. Not to mention my virus scan took longer than expected; 25 minutes compared to 35 minutes by my Pentium 4. Plus, there's not even half of the amount of files I have in my laptop than my desktop.

they compare a phenom x3 against a intel core2. it's true that AMD gives you more performance for the buck when buying a budget system. however, if you compare the Phenom x4 against for example a quad 9550, you'd take your statement back :). amd doesn't have anything to compete with against intels more expensive models.

Look online! Micro direct or Misco. You can get a 4670 for undeer £60. I know people say their no good for gameing, I disagree! As true gamers will go with the higher once yes! But those that use games now and then the 4670is perfect. Look about here you can find all the main games like crysis-COD4 etc running at a very playable rate! I meen its good to have more FPS but aslong as its playable its a good choice. Yes the 3870 was the high end of the 3's But with that 780G+3470= 3670

my locality doesn't give me much gpu options. most the stuff they sell here are the popular ones. and 70% of them are nvidia w/c frustrates me a bit. and i doubt if i could find a 4830. the 4000 series that i often see in the shops are 4850 and 4870 w/c is way beyond my budget.i can only afford the 4600+ and i'm even having problems find a 4670ddr3. so that leaves the 3870, just perfect for my budget and more than my needs. besides, it was the best on the 3000 generation of cards, wasn't it? :D

the best cpu's out right now for the money/performance ratio belongs to AMD. Not only are there chips for the most part 30 to 40 percent less expensive than intels, but perform on par with there counterparts. For a little over a hundred bucks you can get an AMD Athlon 6400+ dual core 3.0ghz and is a good overclocker and very fast- and destroys the competition at that price point- the same thing can be seen across the board with amd chips. O- and i own an Intel quad core-i'm not an AMD fanboy.

Good choice dude! Allthough Ive seen good results from the 4670 (3850 like benchmarks) but for gaming the 48?? is the one to go for. The newer 4830 is said to be the inbetweener from 4670-4850! Choice for those that game now and then

7050 is DX9-Shader 3 so no way! AMD 780 is way moe powerfull than the 7050 Plus you have instructions exclusive to ATI/AMD chipsets so it makes sence to use theirs. Plus since the merge their chipsets are WAY cool

True and not true! Think back to the Athlons! When a 2GHZ would be rated between 3000-3200 PR (pentuim rating) So they may look higher but they aint! In reality their roughly the same, plus you get more done per clock cycle

what a piss off that the phenoms dont idle under 5 watts (like 3 watts or something) if hey did they would be revolutionary in terms of power efficiency and performance and i would gladly pay a couple hundred for one, but theyre not. idle state efficiency is the most important b'cause the processor spends more time in idle doing squat than not, why should we need fans as loud as hair dryers, and waste money for power drainage for a chip thats doing nothing, whats up with that.

no one of both companies offer a well backward compatibility. Intel doesnt change his socket but he change several times the chipset, for examples the new 45nm does not have compability with older chipset like 965 or 975 despite to have the same socket. I'm currently using AMD Dual core 3800+ and was extremely pissed off when they all of a sudden dropped the entire 939 series in favour of the 940 series. Now it's impossible to upgrade unless I change most of my system! Intel however have stayed faithful to the same socket 775 enabling easier upgrades. Fuck AMD, I'm now going back to Intel because god knows what will happen when the AM3 chips arrive, maybe all you're kit will be redundant again!!

AND NOT THEIR PHUCKING DESIGN! so stop going on and on your so called "TRUE QUAD CORE" i used to be an amd user now i've swaped to intel... they really aren't getting the picture... intel processor morphs into a beast when u overclock it. when an amd can turn to 5 ghz i would definitely drop 1k on the processor... lookin on amd history they got a bit cocky on 2006, intel did their research and owned... and now are the top dogs. Personlly i am a Intel and Nvidia gamer and i find that graphics perfectly fine in cod4 and crysis. i dont say which one is better everyone has there own appinion and it depends wat games and also what your using them for. I have a intel core 2 duo e4500 processor but i am getting nforce sli motherboard with q6600 and i have a nvidia geforce 9600GT 512mb gddr3 overclocked and all my games play crystal clear. To me it looks like u put water quality on low on crysis because it runs better on mine

theres alot better books to read than the secret, the secret is just a simple book dvd, to explane it on a basic level, its great though cause its a stepping stone. you have to change your emotional guidense system to get concistent results, its very hard because youve got to be aware of how you feel, and figure out where you are emotionaly then change it by using mind techniques. its harder for some to change because their brains programed to negativity through years of bad thaughts.

I can only speak from my personal experience...Yes, it does. There are however a couple of disclaimers I have. BELIEF is the key. It needs to be something which truly resonates, that you have no resistance to on any level...and you need to be able to let go of it completely, forgetting about it. If you are able to do that, you'll be amazed at how quickly what you've asked for shows up...just remember to be specific about what you DO want, and don't focus on what you don't want.

i am a believer of the law of attraction but i am confused, because what john was saying is true how "the secret" tell you basically that you dont have to take any action with the (ask, believe, receive). it also tells you there are no time restrictions and time doesnt count in the universe (or something similar to that). but james says (think, feel, act). when the secret so strongly set upon asking, believing, receiving. The Secret will work if you apply it correctly which is with complete faith in what you are trying to accomplish. My son was on 12 medicines and continual oxygen and expected to live to be 2 or 3. I think the problem is that what the parents put on their male children. No parent wants to think that a girl is better then "their" son at sports. It's totally stupid and naive, both of which tend to be very loud. Sad, and remarkably true most of the time. Even mothers don't want their sons dating a "seemingly more dominant" female. I can't help but be skeptical. She no doubt has talent, but how much is attributed to the fact that she's 6' tall at the age of twelve? Many have been anointed, many have faltered. We will see in a few years, but she seems motivated to succeed.

honestly before you talk about how good she is look at the height of her opponents. She probably has a good 8 inches off the next tallest kid. And then she needs to wait until those kids hit puberty. I guarentee you she wont be as good in about 3 or 4 years. But what she really needs to go to the projects or the place where Professor played ball at where all they do is play basketball.

I agree and this story made me very angry and I am all man, and very secure, you're right though, these fathers need to grow a pair and deal with it like a real man. Your son just can't hang with this girl, nothing more nothing less.
