My brother is 3 years older than me and has always had a rather eclectic taste in music. I remember following him to see Minutemen at the L.A. Street Scene the day the punks and cops clashed. Mike Watt had his hard case plastered with Madonna stickers, which even at 13 years old, I appreciated the not-so-subtle irony. I remember hearing that Madonna put the line "Last night I dreamt of San Pedro" in the song La Isla Bonita as a tribute to them. Does anyone know if this is true or not?

I totally agree with you. They are real musicians who can write riffs, solos, melodies etc etc. Many of our favourite bands made an excellent transition into the "grunge" style unfortunately the masses jumped fence and backed the likes of Nirvana etc. Where the fuck are they now? Dead thats where! Yet alot of our beloved rock bands still tour for the true believers. Nirvana killed it, however it was inevitable a change was coming.

Careful guys. There was a complete movie uploaded not long ago which has since been taken down. That usually happens on YT when the film's copyright owner gets involved. It seems that short dedications and trailers are tolerated but the movie is much better on a big screen than it is on a tiny, grainy one. I've spent the bucks and you get the quality the film deserves. The DVD is available commercially; you should be able to get hold of it quite easily.

I don't mean to disappoint, but we should be realistic...the story is fiction...great fiction and very believable in the way it has been written. However, the location IS a real place and it is possible to become disorientated while walking up its tracks. Lots of people love going there to visit. Perhaps someone getting lost in its labyrinths in the past was one of the inspirations to the story. It's one of my favourites too.

I'm from Mexico, but am also a great admirer of Poe. And by great, I mean perfectly devoted to the man; He's my favorite writer. I know "The Raven" by heart now. If I went to Baltimore, the first thing I'd do would be scamper off to a cemetery to see Poe's grave. I like graveyards. They're rather quiet.
