By: RapidNova. on 04 Dec 08, 16:30:36
maybe you forgot ' using namespace std ' if you dont wanna use it, you gotta put std::cin >> . or maybe you forgot the ' ; ' semi-colon at the end of the previous line?
By: CupCakeTheBear. on 04 Dec 08, 02:05:06

By: hares295. on 02 Dec 08, 10:28:54

Would look better if u used an "array" and a "for loop" instead of doing dnumber1-3. But well done.

how the program is called again ? I didn't understand it in the vid , because you spoke to fast.
By: rsman222. on 27 Nov 08, 20:23:24
The Semi-Colon - used to separate different lines of code. It's like the period in the English language. If you don't have it, it's like a run-on sentence and the C++ compiler is like a very strict English teacher. Anything within 2 quotation marks is read as something called a 'string', which is basically text. A variable used for a string would be created either using 'string' or 'char'. You cannot add a numerical value to a string.

You should describe everything in detail, or else we're just copying you. When the time comes to create a program we won't know what to actually do.

By: attractor89. on 23 Nov 08, 15:07:21
Thanks for the video!! I was actually looking for info on how to create GUIs in C++. This one is completely about writing a console application. It's okay though since beginner developers should start off with console apps. Btw, why use Dev-C++? It is no longer in active development, and is not as rich as VS. I suggest that novices go with Visual Studio for Windows development and Xcode for Mac.

Same with closing brackets
By: xchiefx. on 23 Nov 08, 07:41:09
Make sure your opening brackets are curly brackets, not parenthesis int main(void) {
