Kimmel's brand of humour is to not tell the guy it was going to happen, Damon's explosion came after the credits, instead of just happening and then cutting to credits. This is what sparked Matt Damon's working with Sarah Silverman on the "I'm fucking Matt Damon" song. I'm sure he knew it was a joke, but at the moment he was totally pissed. The Silverman song was a way to get back at Kimmel while also showing that he had moved on. Don't forget that he's also human.

Yes there is such a thing as a shared title. USC was the last team to get one. It's when the coaches and AP poll have one team as #1(in that case USC) and the BCS winner was another team(in that case LSU). It goes down in history as a National Title for both schools.
