I'm currently using AMD Dual core 3800+ and was extremely pissed off when they all of a sudden dropped the entire 939 series in favour of the 940 series. Now it's impossible to upgrade unless I change most of my system! Intel however have stayed faithful to the same socket 775 enabling easier upgrades. Fuck AMD, I'm now going back to Intel because god knows what will happen when the AM3 chips arrive, maybe all you're kit will be redundant again!!

In all honesty, thats why i went with Intel this time around. They had more sound quad core technology- No not the built in memory controller or direct connect architecture like AMD has, but performance all around was faster and more consistent. Previous to the C2D line, AMD was spankin Intel, its how the CPU wars go, Im glad AMD is still around to level the playing field and to prevent Intel from Monopolizing the business and prevents them from selling their chips at ridiculous prices.

well, i agree that there are a few types of applications that amd can do better, ive owned quite a few amd processors myself and a good buddy of mine is a big amd fan so we have quite a few comparisons goin on. I know benchmarks arent real world ability necessarily, but his athlon x2 6000+ cant even hold a candle to the intel e7200 for what was about 20 dollars more.

Not true man. Sure its part of the tuning and the new DPF's and what not, but a modern diesel now-a-days' with a DPF running down a road without a turbo (so no boost) would smoke black. Black smoke in a diesel is essentially running rich, the black is actually fuel. You need the turbo (s) for the added air (in the form of boost) so that the air fuel mixture doesnt go to rich hence black smoke. FYI running a diesel rich doesnt hurt it, it just causes high EGT's. Running lean means less power.

I need some advice- Running a huge Cosmos 1000 case with P5N-D MB, 4Gb Corsair, Intel "Extreme" processor stock at 3.73 and I OC'ed it to 4.07, added Coolermaster massive heatsink to run stable at 60 celcius. Problem- I have two 9600GT stock OC'ed running in SLI and I get horrible 3Dmark score of 2980 ! With two 8800GS cards switch I get same friggin score. I have my Q6600 (GO) at 3.7Ghz with 1.38v 100% stable 24/7. I use the Freezone Elite with idle temps of 18c & max temps of 55c using OCCT but never getting over 34c during actual gaming (Crysis at 1900X1200 after a few hours). I stopped at 3.7Ghz but I may still have a little headroom left in this CPU to go a little higher, I am using this overclock to balance out my Tri-Sli 260 Core 216 SC cards & thus far is doing an OK job
