I agree with you panjabiwarrior. Idol and picture worship are not permitted in Sikhism however if it creates a sikhi or religious environment and reminds of the gurus then so be it. However, i strongly believe that no Sikh should bow their head to a portrait or statue of any of the Gurus. This is why Guru Gobind Singh Ji gave us Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

It's common sense. It's just ambiance to take you to a higher level. Perhaps a picture of Guru Nanak will remind people of GOD and the guru's teachings than conjuring up random images by themselves. When you decorate your house, are you worshiping the posters and paintings? No, you are creating an environment. There is nothing wrong with creating a Godly environment, and to contest that, by labeling it idol worship is fanatical,unnecessarily critical, and a sin by itself.

marc, I agree. I have such a special love for Sikhs - every time I see a Sikh it just makes me feel so happy. My husband and friends always tease me if they see a Sikh when I'm not around! They'll say, "I saw a Sikh today!!!" like, ha ha you missed it! :0) there's something special about them and I think its that they don't ask anything of God except to love Him.
