Music sucks today, yeah there are some good bands (mostly underground) but I was born in 91. So I remember some of this but sadly not a good much of it. I only listen to underground hip hop, ska, grunge and old alternative rock. Classify SG however you want but they still kick ass, I'm a huge PJ, StP,SG and silverchair fan and I need this music to come back!

you're all right about the music scene. i was born in 1985, but i missed out on a lot because my mom and sister said heavy music was evil. there's a sick desperation in most of today's bands; like they're just going through the motions to crank out a hit. like with classic movies, bands are trying to make an old sound fresh when they don't have the talent (Godsmack anyone?)there's also a lack of emotion in today's music. fuck it though. i live in the past. fuck the trendy shit.

im pretty sure that that their generation (x, i think) cut off around '83. I was born in '85 and am considered gen y apparently. While I listen to it now it wasn't predominant in my adolescance and anything before then was irrelevant. born in '92 is a bit of a stretch there bro. It's all good, lots of us listen to the beatles and stuff, and those are decades out of our league. You aren't gen x homes.

Im a 92 kid too and our opinions matter. I know we have a lot still to learn, but there are plenty of things we can see with our own two eyes that are just common sense right? And shouldn't we have the right to say what we think? Your totally right, we just missed the era of the last great music acts. Nothing is about writing meaningful music anymore. Everything is just about making money and going mainstream. No individualism anymore. Maybe we will get a new band that is decent some day.

i wouldn't want them to reunite either. a new soundgarden record simply wouldn't give me the same feeling their 90s-stuff (and only the 90s-stuff) gives me. all their records were a major step for them and on the listening part for me as well and it was part of an era which is now gone. please, don't touch the past guys! it's perfect the way it is! btw. i do think chris would be able to perform their old songs properly, but you're right, it wouldn't sound the same.

i wouldnt want soundgarden to reunite honestly. chris's voice is shot to hell. its not his fault, though. soundgarden's catalogue is just absurdly demanding vocally. i don't know what he was thinking keeping songs like "jesus christ pose" on a regular setlist. now his voice sounds like he eats sandpaper for breakfast. tool doesn't perform "ticks and leeches" more than once or twice during and entire continental tour for that obvious reason.

I have badmotorfinger, and after listening to this, I am definitely getting this album too! Cornell is awesome. This album isnt as hard as BMF from what I have heard on youtube, but they are still plaenty hard on here. Just because they aren't as heavy metal as jesus christ pose doesnt mean it isnt still hard hitting, and all the songs I have heard thus far confirm in my mind that soundgarden is the best band to have sprouted in the past 20 years. BMF and Superunkown are both great albums, both are hard to compare, but I might lean a little bit closer to BMF. Both are greater, but BMF is harder. nooooo way....Slash is a much better guitarist and if you ever cared to look at GNR's lyrics, especially from the UYI albums, they are pretty deep...but SG's drummer is better than any of GNR's...i like both bands a lot but GNR tops SG for me

I saw Soundgarden as the Opening act for Guns N' Roses at Joe Robbie Stadium New Years Eve 1992. They got booed of the stage after "Jesus Christ Pose". I remember seeing them in the parking lot sfter the show. My man w/ the Taliban beard stuck his head out the window of his bus and I clearly remember yelling "you suck!" and we shared a brief moment of eye contact.....classic.
