Saw them at The Rave in Milwaulkee in the Blackest of Black Tour. Very impressed. Lots of sweet variations in the guitar solos, preformance blew away the other bands. Friend of mine ended up with a signed drum skin. Dimmu Borgir really disapointed me 2 members of the band were not there and Shargath just sort of stood there the whole performance. Hail True Metal!

Chuck Biscuits=very underrated. If you hear Danzig with their other drummer the sound just does not have that same depth. Chuck had such commanding licks. Especially if you saw him live. He THRASHED his drums. I have his drumstick from New Orleans Music Hall NYE show 92. What a great band. Classic song!

Venom didn't even form until 1979 for Satan's sake! Blue Cheer are decent I never credit one band for creating an entire scene or genre of music though. Blue Cheer, Mountain, Steppenwolf, Cream, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, and others were all known to play heavy music in the mid-late '60s. Black Sabbath were the darkest of the greats so will forever be credited for influencing so many of the bands most of us love like Danzig, Rollins Band, and others.

I am a musician I certainly respect what Black Musicians have done influencing the Beatles. Rubber Soul many people think it was just a folk rock album but the title was making fun of how plastic they thought on how British Blues artists take on the blues. I am only commenting because the Beatles are being lumped with Elvis. If you ever heard the Beatles Revolver or Sgt Pepper it's more of a fusion of Indian Music and Avant Music that it is blues.

I easily agree with you the Beatles were influenced by black musicians. I never said the Beatles invented sampling and looping. The Beatles combined sampling, looping, repeated syncopated beat, drone, processed vocals and backward music on "Tomorrow Never Knows". It influenced hordes of musicians. Also "Strawberry Fields Forever" has drum loops. These innovations for pop music done by the Beatles first not James Brown. I am just annoyed the Beatles are being lumped with Elvis.

The Beatles were influenced more by r&b/soul/R&R, hence, the Isley Bros, Motown, Little Richard, Larry Williams, Chuck Berry covers. As I said Beatles were great composers, but most Blacks couldn't really get into their music until they were covered by Black musicians, I didn't realize what a beautiful song "And I love her" was until I heard Bobby Womack's version. Many Black musicians appreciated their work, but most rank&file non-musician blacks could not get with it until presented with soul.

I respect the Isley Brothers. The Beatles were way less influenced by blues music than say the Stones or Elvis. They were more original. Hendrix copped the Beatles use of backward guitar and vocals through leslie speakers. Public Enemy named a album after the Beatles Revolvervolution. Am not "bitter racist". And Beatles early covers were mimics of originals. They found their voice with their own compositions. Among white people Beatles & Elvis were "far more influential". not in Black community. Isleys formed their own record company in 1964 & recruited Jimi Hendrix and recorded gems like "Testify" "Move over so I can Dance" and original "That Lady". After they failed to chart they put company on hold and joined Motown. Left in 1968 and put T-Neck records on the map.

Man, virtually everyone nowadays honours black people for their pioneering work. I do agree that in this era there was racism with the big crowd - but Elvis and the Beatles were inspired by black music. Don't be a bitter racist about it. They didn't copy it, they just integrated it into their own styles - styles that made it very, very big. Music as real as and - sorry - far more influential than the heritage of the Isley Brothers.

I am big fan of traditional country music myself- Johnny Cash, George Jones, Patsy Cline. What I admire about it- It used other influences, blues, traditional Irish/Scott/English music & gospel, but came up with a sound that was stamped with the unique sound of the southern whites who created it. Same with Beatles, once they came out of their cover period they created an original and unique sound. But these early covers merely mimics of originals.

Schizophrenia isn't having an alternate personality. What Jack/Tyler suffered from were intense dissociative fugues combined with narcolepsy and insomnia. Although the hallucinations are part of schizophrenia, I don't think they were suffering from it. Either way. Jack had a fucked up mind. He assumed the Tyler identity because he couldn't drop his materialistic values with just his old personality. He had to wake up as someone else every now and then to get things done.
