Well many of these things already work. The computer can read out stuff and you can reply in voice, not this accurate and with this level of freedom. But dragon natural speech is alright. Also to get mails via a portable device, i get a beep when i get mail, my n95 is connected to the internet via turbo 3g. You have to drive yourself, but this is not that far off. I mean, the clock screen ting is here.

Just want to make a comment. I recently purchased this netbook model. It works very well, it is light weight and you can install any software as if it were a desktop PC. After using for some time, I think this is an ideal model for travelling because it is small and handy. However, the main observation I can make is that it heats over a reasonable temperature. With a cooler fan the problem can be avoided but at the end when you want to use it for travelling you have to carry the cooler fan too.

Flame: not a umpc. its a netbook, you cant test performance by running tons of apps, you have to utilize them all at the same time. but in contrast to most netbooks (eeepc, and etc) yes it is nice. Praise: Nice demonstrations. Nice and clear voice. Non moving camera.

Agreed, only other issues is the slightly upped price in comparison to other netbooks and the glossy display (which is a disaster for a mobile device but, hey noone's perfect). Hopefully this little fellow will come with atom or nano cpu's within a couple of months. That'd make it THE notebook replacement to get.

If only this was a 1.6ghz cpu across the range. Here in the UK we get a slower via chip, the 1.2GHz and its slow as hell with suse or xp. If you are in the UK stay clear of this model. It's a shame as it is the best constructed one we have tested yet at work.

It's quite handy for those who sit at a table or hard surface, but for those who need something to use on their lap, I'd stay away. There are several other alternatives out there. But unlike this, they aren't made with fabric. :) Looks interesting, and the fact that my keyboard can carry my UMPC is appealing :) Thanks for sharing the video!

You mentioned that the user doesn't hold down the shift key, but rather pushes it once then pushes the key to be shifted. Does this imply the keyboard doesn't support n-key rollover? In other words, when one is typing very quickly and has pushed the next key (and maybe even the key after that) before letting up the current key, will the keyboard catch all that?

Dell have recently created a 19 hour 6 cell battery. If you could somehow include one of them without drastically affecting the asthetics, then you got yourself a kick ass product. I love the mutli slide gaming feature! Im planning on getting the HTC shift. Wish i could get one of them instead.

not anymore with the latest firmware update. youtube vids are still prone to artifacts, jaggies, and color banding but still very watchable and the framerate is silky smooth if you got a good internet connection. cnet tv is extremely laggy though, and i wished the n800 would work with veoh and myspace tv.

It might be a bit on the large side, but it is basically an OQO model 02 except way cheaper, but instead compromising quality they comprised with size, it is slightly than your hand and with the sleeve cover, its safe and easy to toss in your backpack or purse. 850$ for a full fledge micro pc with Windows XP, 1.2ghz CPU 1GB ram 4.5 inch screen 60GB HDD and stylus, sounds like a heck of a deal to me. PS: the OQO Model 02 is $1100-1500 and only difference is it has a 1.6ghz cpu.

Actually, the scroll bar position in this one and the OQO is being critized a lot. When you are inking on the screen your hand touch the scrollbars all time. Most of the OQO owners turn off the scrollbars for that reason.

I own a samsung q1. It's amazing. It runs some good games for me to. I use it to play call of duty often. It will also run guild wars and WoW without lagging.

Asus R2H or R2HV rocks... I have tried our the Asus R2HV Centrino Pentium M, It really runs very smooth. with 1.25DDR2 667Mhz and 1.0 centrino processor. I think i had no problem in supporting most office program, and also playing games :) ASUS FOR LIFE !

I created an acronis backup of the xptablet install fresh out of box. Then wiped the partitions and did a fresh vista installation , followed with latest drivers. Didnt take as long as that video did and dont get that CPU usage you have been... (this is what asus do with the repackaged vista models they sell now)
