No doubt Hendrix was ahead of his time, and i am ever greatful for his work, but having that said, Mr.Moore really plays Hendrix's socks off here. Ofc it doesn't sound quite like Hendrix, but imagine Hendrix try to play some of Gary's stuff? he is a spur man, he is one of the most rythmic guitar player ever and his delivarance on stage is just over the top. Try to sing while you play like him and you just cant, nobody can!! For those who aren't familiar with the UK, Mark uses some quirky ref's ie "The man steps upto the microphone and says "At last" as the Time-Bell rings. A ref to Closing time in Brit pubs and was made law after incidents in 1st world war 1914-18 where drunkeness caused explosions in armament factories. Also notice Mark makes it clear that the intention always was to say "With the Sultans of Swing" except after the Timebell rings where he says "We are the Sultans of Swing"

yer i do the same lol didnt mean that as a slur on your playin ive thought for years that anyone can learn to play a million miles an hour but it takes real skill to play something thats slow but not boring only took someone actually pointing out to me that playing slow is a real skill its so much harder to play a riff tight slowly than it is to play it fast and keep in time now if i ever get stuck learning somethin i play it half speed with a metronome till im tight at it lol

I totally agreee... speed is not the measure of a good guitarist... many young players are seduced by speed, but eventually they realise thats not what its all about... but it is part of learning the instrument.. I have no problem with youngsters trying to play fast.. at least they are playing and thats a good thing.

Being a good guitarist has nothing to do with speed or technique. It's about capturing your emotions into a few vibrating strings, and through them tell your audience how you feel. Noone can do this like mark does. It's all about feeling, not technique nor speed
