This is quite common, depends how bad it is. Perhaps it was air temperature related, hard to say as I have only ever had a tiny bit of mold and rarely at that. Let it grow. You'll be using the grass not the mold ; )

Great video! I just started growing my first tray of wheatgrass. It's been covered up for two days, and when I took a look at it this morning, I noticed a lot of what appears to be mold growing. Will the grass still grow o.k. or should I start all over again? Thanks Karen.

Aconbury sprout compost is briliant isnt it. I use the trays with holes but stand them in a bigger tray with no holes, and a few pebbles. so they can breathe, drain, but no mess. works well... x

Grass doesn't break down in this way. You would get liquid from chewing it and this is healthful and great for your oral health, but the fibre itself is not digestable in the human system. If you eat it you could run into problems - not recommended.

I'd like clarification on something please. You do your demonstration with the "cat litter" box that doesn't have any holes at the bottom, but your wheat grass that is already sprouted by the window has been done in boxes that have holes at the bottom. Can you in fact sprout wheat grass with the cat litter boxes (or any box that doesn't have holes at the bottom) or did you just use it for demonstrative purposes? Thanks for your time. I look forward to growing my own. :)

Hello. Great video. Thank you very much for posting it. You say that you shouldn't eat the wheat grass, but rather juice it. Why couldn't you eat it, chewing the grass very well until it is practically a liquid? Is there a negative affect to eating the grass rather than juicing it? Thanks again.

You *can* get another crop but it is never anywhere like as strong or potent as the first so I personally recommend to compost the first and start again with a fresh tray.

Some people DO put dirt on top of their sprouts to keep them moist and dark but I find this uses double the dirt necessary and when you cut the grass you can't cut the shoots as low as you can without the dirt. Also your cut grass has dirt on it which is hard to remove. The second reason to put paper on top also is to keep the seeds and dirt moist so you don't have to water as often. As soon as your sprouts are about 1 inch tall, take off the paper and then they LOVE the sun.

You must cover the seeds at first for several reasons. First, seeds only sprout in dark humid conditions. (Think about planting a seed in the dirt and the conditions it grows in). However, if you planted wheat seeds in the dirt they would take a very long time to sprout. This is why you want to sprout them, lay them on top of the dirt, and then keep them moist and dark with paper instead of dirt.

This would be very difficult unless you had a big enough garden to grow a wheat crop. I recommend finding an organic wheat supplier and just buying the seeds (wheat berries). It is relatively inexpensive and much simpler than trying to do it yourself. Make sure the wheat you buy is for sprouting, otherwise you may run into unnecessary frustration. Janae

Are you familiar with the Magic Bullet blender? I have the (very similar) Power Chopper w/ the juice attachment (only cost around $35) I make my wheatgrass juice with it and it strains the pulp from the juice. Usually I cut the wheatgrass up before I put it in there so it won't wrap around the blade. The pulp comes out dry--almost like cotton! I know I got ALL the juice I can get out of there using my blender.

Yup, it's hassle free, and so is sawdust. Live plant juices have ORMUS minerals, chlorophyll, phytochemicals, enzymes, structured water, and more that make them highly regenerative. No, the Juiceman is a "centrifugal" juicer that won't juice greens or wheatgrass. The best juicer to use under $1,000 is a Tribest Solostar II, it extracts about 25% more juice than others, including the more expensive juicers made by Tribest. Single auger or twin gear juicers will juice anything. The next best would be a Tribest Green Star, but they cost close to $500 and are difficult to assemble and clean. Omega and Samson aren't as good as the Tribest products, for various reasons.

You must dump the root mat and start again with fresh soil and sprouted seeds. You can't regrow the cut grass, it doesn't have much nutrition, usually won't grow well, and usually molds. You can juice with a blender but it's messy and takes as long as using a juicer. You must blend the grass and then squeeze it in a mesh bag, available at places like Home Depot or Lowes in the paint department. (Wash it well.)

I am sure we don't need to go to extreme RAW or VEGAN diets. Just cut out excess sugar and other carbohydrates will do the trick. Go back some 30 years to what our grandparents ate. Sure there were junk food then, but NO Macers or KFC etc. Fast foods were not affordable, so we ate home cooked simple meat and veg meals.

I just happened to glance at the last mail i sent and I screwed up. I meant to say, From my research frozen shots would NOT be as potent as freshly pressed juiced. I have done fasting experiments with powdered grass and freshly juiced grass and I would definately get a jolt of energy with the freshly juiced grass but would not get the same effect with the powdered stuff. That's my experience.

Question:I whip up 2-3 whey protein shakes a day.I use organic unsweetened soy milk,various what I beleive to be quality whey protein powders(usually 50 grams of protein from the powder alone),frozen fruits(mixed berries,blueberrys,etc),and nonfat plain yogurt(something decent from whole foods).I feel satisfied,nurished,and never get upset to my stomach.What is your take on this being about half my diet.I am buying a juicer this month because I am not a big vegetable eater but can drink anything

What do you think about buying wheat grass that is shipped to you frozen from somewhere like dynamicgreensdotcom.I love getting wheat grass shots from Jamba but its a bit inconvienant since I work 60 hours a week.Also im seriously thinking about becoming a vegetarian.I love to weight lifting and im concerned about adding/maintaining muscle.What is your advice on creatine supplementation.Thank you kind sir.

Thanks for the comment, you are right, people probably get sick of hearing me blab on. I guess I didn't make it very clear. If you want to see how I do this just go the the website at the beginning of this video and I will teach you HOW to do this stuff. And sorry if it sounded like I was preaching yoga, the last thing i want to sound like is a preacher. I am just throwing out ideas and information. I'm not trying to push anyone into believing anything.

good explanation, but instead of preaching yoga, it would be better to show less of yourself and more information and images of what you talk about. Not as much the WHAT but more of the HOW? Can be done? Good Job Dude!
