Thank you so much. This, along with, "She Knows" off the High on the Hog album encapsulate his genuis in my opinion. Haunting, eerie, poignant, other worldly, devoid of all pretense, raw and totally beautiful in its' sparseness. That's what he brought to The Band's music.

Great video- thanks for posting. Manuel certainly had a voice for the ages. An incredible talent. Maybe the Good Lord has to take something away when he gives you so much. EIther way, we were all blessed that we had him (and Danko, and The Band for that matter) as long as we did.

Surely you're not saying Levon was a lesser member of the group. Surely not. Truth be known, Ronnie Hawkins is another 'Arkansas Thug' that helped form The Band into the best rock group to ever perform. Where do you think Robbie Roberston recieved the so much of his inspiration to write classics such as 'The Night They Drove Ole Dixie Down'? Face it, a southern rock influence shaped these guys. And Levon is no thug or hooligan.

How amazing is this song! I love Jakob Dylans version of this as well, truly a mans song that only a man could do justice to. Richard Manuel is so forgotten these days by modern "songwriters" but that makes it more special that only a few of us will be aware & appreciate what he did.

this vesion is beautiful. I much prefer it to the Pablo Honey version. The strings rocks, and I prefer the cool bass lines in it. I don't think I have ever heard a more relaxing mellow song :) Radiohead Tower above the rest.

Because Bluth and Goldman but their hearts into this movie (as did James Horner) wich produced a magnificent result. The sequels took some of the music and voices with them, but the origional genious wasn't there. Though they DID make the great decicion of using Jeff Bennett, Tress McNeille and Rob Paulsen for several of their characters. *hearts*

yeah, i always get sad at scenes of losing mothers. For years, anytime i dreamt about my mother, she'd be killed (in the dream), and i've watched really bad things happen to her, watched her die in many different ways. so scenes like these really hit me. Thankfully, my mom's fine

I saw this movie when I was about 6 or 7 years old. I'm pretty sure that the scene in which Littlefoot's mother dies is the only time I've ever cried during a movie. It was a very sad moment, and this music just made it all the more depressing (which is good). It just makes me think of my mom and how I didn't get to see her much during that time period.

He's seriously quick. It is very difficult to say whether Roberts was just as quick or perhaps quicker. It is also worth noting that Holding took 28 and Roberts took 27 wickets in this series. Of these Holding claimed 14 in the Oval test. The chief tormentor for England in this series for England was Andy Roberts, however, when Holding got his act together on the docile Oval track, he was as close to unplayable as anyone had seen.
