guys, the problem with this video is that he doesn't give enough information to call it a tutorial. what he is showing is only the position you should be when you doing the windmill. even now, im still learning windmill from other videos and i think this video is not as.. how do you say? err, not enough information?

I think it's because the righties do the balancing with their right hands, which is harder since you're lifting your body weight to somewhere else, and the left hand's just there for support. I'm not really sure, I'm not a pro sorry xD.

Actually, the blades are designed like airplane props, to all fall off together if something like this happens; the entire prop is supposed to come off. Otherwise its like shoes in a washer, and the force of the imbalance will literally rip the thing (or the wing, in the case of a plane!) to shreds. So, this is a pretty epic fail. One blade fell off and then the whole thing blew up!

But those one spin MUCH slower. These windmills are designed to move as fast as possible to generate more power. Denmark's aren't so areodynamic and are only used to slowly grind mill. It's hard to really compare the different designs.

I think alternators need some power put into them (from a battery) before power comes out because instead of permanent magnets they use electro magnets which also helps regulate how much power is extracted making it easier to regulate --- fun project, could use a microprocessor to manage it all.

Thank for the comment, Those pieces flying around under severe wind conditions should be dangerous, You'd have to do proffesional work in order to use wind energy and to make it well built to the ground, All in all the video is great and the girl is lovely, I guess our future holds us crazy designs flying over our heads, When free power is being held and charged 1000's$ to install, I think the fault of those "accidents" are on those who hold all the good patents and the new green industry.

He dropped out of school because the country went through a famine where people were starving to death, and many of his family member came near to death. They could no longer pay the fee, so he found a way he could help his family, and himself by building a light he could read by. Then everything bloomed from there... he will be attending school next year. But right now hes enjoying chicago:)

Thank you for the comment. We do not get a lot of wind where I live but in a thunderstorm, this 8' diameter blade reached about 120 rpms in 15 mph gust. They do provide more torque. The nice part is the cost. This 8' diameter blade cost $6 so you could build a bunch with a geared generator. On person who built some living in a much winder are told me they got 300+ rpms on a 10' blade. I made a smaller 4' one and it spins almost too fast to see in a good breeze. There is an easy step to taper.

A nice piece of work, don't want to negate your efforts, but from my experience 'one angle' blades like these spin up well initially, but never spin quick enough to make any power, the tips stall out, shallow the angles near tips and you will get much better results, keep up the good work!.

It depends on the wind. Living in Florida, we get very little wind in our area. The torque at the hub is very powerful 4' x 4 to the center. I have a DC generator and will be testing voltage. The motor in this video is used just for the bearing. It was just for no load testing.

Only a table saw is needed, I also used a chop/miter saw. If you are not a picky person about rough cuts, each blade takes 20 minutes to make without sanding time. Just a straight 2 x 4. They really work good. The wind on shoot day was 3-7 mph.

I tried the game on emulator, and the game is just wonderful, nice musics, nice graphics, nice gameplay, the only bad thing is Klonoa is in 2D, but it makes him cute :3

Well i can help you there. Do you know anything about emulation? Although its hard, it is still possible to get Playstation 2 games to play on your pc. (In a few years it will be easyer) Reply if your interested.
