Kabuki nowadays is not only for men, but leading actors and leading theaters of Japan do not allow women. You can find some troupes with women even in tachiyaku roles, though I do not really think you will like it. Even female roles need strong movements, and the tradition has been built up on men bodies, that is why women do not look good in Kabuki theatre

I love his playing too. As a long-time player, I call it "Acoustic Finger Style". He's playing in an alternate tuning called DADGAD. I wouldn't say it's uniquely his, but he has a very nice touch and relationship with his guitar. David Wilcox also comes to mind with a resonant, husky, yet tender voice supported by tasteful alternate-tuning guitar voicings. Enough tech-talk. RS's guitar work supports but doesn't overshadow his songs. His music is just incredibly rich, elegant, & moving.

Last November I saw Mr. Shindell perform "Wisteria" as his last song at the Iron Horse Theater in Northampton, MA. Earlier in the year, I held my Mum as she passed away on a hazy Sunday morning. Come fall, my siblings and I were in the process of cleaning out her home, our childhood home, prior to putting it up for sale. Hello - I was very touched by your comment - I have always thought Shindell's song "Wiseria" was more than a song about one's previous home - much more - a comment on the lives we lead, thinking we're always moving forward but if we look back at just the right time, it can produce a melancholy that can't be explained - remember the love we made the day we moved in? I have watched several: know some of his music, owning some, and went to see him with my dying wife in Randolph,Vermont in November of 2006, just weeks before she was taken from me after 23 years of marriage to ALS... I heard that the concert we went to went out on limited recording, now unable to get this. If anyone can post something helpful, would appreciate it. WOW! I couldn't agree more. I am 17 years old and I hate this whole rap and hip hop thing going on these days. I don't see any talent in making a bunch on nonsense rhyme. Tage, You are remarkable. The first house I bought when I moved to Big D had a deck on the back completely covered in Wysteria. It would bloom in late April or early May and the fragrance was nearly intoxicating. This song is not sad to me. I always liked this song- but it has such a sadness to it. I've been reading a lot of interviews he did and whenever he was questioned about the meaning behind this he always said- he wasn't sure, it was late and he was "under the influence" and it's about a ghost named wysteria. It's pretty funny to read the story behind some of his songs as often times he had no meaning - he said he always wrote the music first and then the lyrics.. whatever he meant by it - its a very pretty song! thanks!!

You were probably addressing this to everyone else, but I interpret the Wisteria as a comparison to a love that was very beautiful but that lasted such a short time. Wisteria itself flowers for about a month or so, it is very beautiful but gone very quickly. I might be wrong, but that is partly what it reminds me of.

And like another poster said, I took DF's lyrics and made them my own - they seemed so fitting, regarding someone I once knew. 'Haunting' is my best description of this trac. What about you? When I was a child my parents had a yacht on LAke Texoma nad Dan was the music of choice they would use his music to entertain others. I was young then and he quickly became my favorite, I am now in my 30s and still love his music, and will forever love his music. He will always live in my heart. Dan you are the best of the best and I miss you with all my heart! Does anyone know when Desperate Housewives will have its series finale because I am not going on this tour until it does. I just watched on the video, the Munster's, Ghost and Mr. Chicken, and the Delta House go by without one word from the tour guide about it. Even if I were a fan of the show I am also a huge fan of the classic tv/films that were shot there.

Lol, You were lucky. I went there and took a video tour myself to post it here but they were filming so we couldnt go any further than the end of Wisteria Lane. It was kinda cool to see production people walking and driving around the set. I didnt get to see any of the housewives, though. It was still exciting!

They shoot DH during the week, & the tram tour only drives down Wisteria lane on the weekends when there is no filming being done. It remained closed for many weeks (including weekends), recently,when they were filming the tornado scenes. Right now, due to the strike, there's no filming, and it has been open just about EVERY day. My husband is a tour tram driver.

The Desperate Houswives people also destroyed the original Munster house by tearing down the top tower portion and ripping down the majority of the rounded barn shaped section. It's almost completely unrecognizable now. It's disgusting what they did.

Was Jason your tour guide? It sounds a lot like him. He was my tour guide for the VIP tour and yet we were unable to go inside Wisteria Lane because of filming.
