actuall i disagree, i really like this song and the pontsy act for the children is really sweet and makes him a good actor, i do agree that some of his films however were not great because of the roles the people got and gave him, not his fault and he still fulfilled what he wanted by doing them...he was always given roles where he's the hero and real unrealistic stories and he sings and everythings all nicey nicey, elvis i believe didnt even want to sing in his films as he wanted to act!

Irishpuck35 is correct...many people (including myself) are often taken up by Randy's voice and the melody--we lose sight of the story. It took me about 5 times to finnaly realize it was the preacher who saw "The Promised Land" because he was dying. The bible goes to the hooker, who changes her life and reads the bible to her son who then becomes a preacher and, actually, the "narrator" of the story. The song is brilliant!

It has been done at least once. Search Myspace music for "Mundelein Starship" and you will find that Dave Rhodes has recorded "Powerhouse" on the Mundelein Wurlitzer in 2007. Of course, someone should do a whole album of Scott's music on theatre organ... that would certainly be interesting. I know the music is available because I have copies of some of it (piano editions from the 1930s and 40s). I'm not sure if band charts were published for more than two or three of his tunes.

actually, they were all famous when CSNY formed. Crosby had been in the Byrds, one of the bigger US bands of the mid/late 60s. Nash had been in the Hollies in England. Stills had been with Young in Buffalo Springfield. I think Young and Stills always had personal and/or artistic clashes. And Young was in the process of launching what turned out to be a very successful solo career. So he drifted in and out of CSN(Y) pretty much as the mood took him.

honestly, i dont think it's a mirror. that thing at the end was probably a camera, and then the wooden slats or what ever they were would tilt themselves such that they would appear lighter or darker compared to the slat next to it, providing shading, and thus, a picture. i doubt it would work nearly as well in a high light environment either.
