I didn't see you posted this. Ok, well a few more FACTS: the best insulation is a vacuum. that weighs nothing. Dewars that hold 60 liters of liquid nitrogen only weigh about 50 lbs, and can hold a tank for months. FACT: a copper electromagnet can not operate at peak efficiency. The neat features of a maglev train that make it so efficient would still be used in a superconducting train. The electromagnets ARE the weak link.

Since we still don't know that much about superconductors.. I don't know :p Maybe it has something to do with the earth poles being the magnet poles, and the UFO used some sort of super powerfull superconductor? Perhaps they have some sort of variable superconductor, so they can vary the amount of pull it has? :p

If that "look up 0 Celsius" was to the guy who asked if these could be created at that temperature, maybe you should look it up yourself. 0 C is the freezing point of water, aka 273 K or 32 F. It's a very common temperature. And no, no superconductors have been found that exist at such a high (relatively) temperature. But superconductivity is not fully understood, and we have gradually found higher and higher temperature superconductors, so it may be possible.

For a ufo to levitate magnetically, the earth would need to had somehow obtained superconducting properties to allow the ufo to suspend in the air at a fixed distance. Duh... Heh, ask any man in Finland and he is propably able to dismantle and assemble that weapon. We use in our army the RK62 variant, which has a bit different sight and stock, but otherwise the same. And yeah, every guy here has to go to army :( It's the coolest thing in the world to fire it for the first time, but after couple months you wish you'd never have to see the damn thing again. But it's reliable and you could sink it to sand or mud and it still worked (I tried couple times :)

the kalasnikov is an exellent firearm, although it isn't as accurate as a modern rifle, it is however still one of the most powerful automatics out there, it can penetrate brick, wood pretty much any common material or structure eg, house wall (these days they are built with single layer bricks a wooden frame & plaster board..) i have had the pleasure of fireing out of one of these & they got pure raw power, still till this it is my favourite automatic....

I disagree. There are both Republican as well as Democrat run states that have driven themselves into disparity. Having been involved in automation integration in my past I can attest that Michigan was heavily vested in a domestic industry that has failed to keep pace with efficiency technology. The Japanese companies invested heavily in fuel efficiency, hybrid, alternative tech. This has more to do with a management failure to predict and invest than production. Is engineering unionized?

To the contrary, Joe, the resolution issue you're hearing is due to insufficient sampling rate of the software. The pitch bend MIDI message has a 14-bit resolution which affords 16,384 discreet tonal values. My model maps 8192 values (pitch bend down) over 3 octaves for approx 227 values per semitone. So, optimizing the software & computer's performance is an important next step. However, the biggest problem to address is my own intonation :)

Ken - great work. However, this DEFINITELY highlights the drawback to using MIDI. As you can hear, there is only a 128 step resolution in the sound. This is completely unlike a real theremin, which of course, is analog, and has no ceiling of resolution at all. Are you routing the Wii using serial data, and porting it to MIDI? If you are familiar with OpenSound Control, that would be ideal. You're Roland wouldn't support it, but let's be real, OSC is the future.
