because it's his only weakness. God blessed Samson with immeasurable strength, in which he was never suppose to cut his hair otherwise it would go away. Many scholars believe Samson was a Nazarite in which they were not allowed to cut their hair, so when he did his strength was gone. So she was only able to cut his hair cause that was his ONE weakness, the rest of him was too strong.

Hi thepurpleshoew, the palatal stop is similar to a glottal stop, which is the kind of sound or sensation you experience when you gulp (where the soft palate, the spongy bit at the top and back of your throat, meets the the throat), but placed higher in the mouth - closer to the hard palate and not so much in the throat. Everything else you said pretty much sums it up! :) Oh and slightly off topic... her piano looks like chocolate and licorice, and I want to eat it!

Regardless of whether its a singing technique or not, which as you have explained to me. Its quite obvious that its produced by obstructing airflow in the vocal tract, and it is also quite obvious that with this particular song, in my opinion it does not sound appealing, but rather that she is indeed choking. Most people do not have expertise enough to appreciate a "Palatal Stop", but rather they want to hear a song that appeals to their ears.

Well, my comment has nothing to do with Reginas playing ability. I know it is her song and she can play however the heck she wants. I freakin love Regina Spektor. If you were to look on my page you would see that Regina is my favorite artist. I was defending her. Some were saying that she wasn't really playing and I said that she HAS to be really playing.
