he changes it a lot but it's really good i mean nowadays the new stuff (modern times etc) works better but in the 70's his vioce was amazing for the 60's songs

I wish the younger generation of today would sit down and really listen to some tunes from the 50s through the early 90s...they would be well served in finding their "own" tune. That 40-45 years of music is just incredible compared to today's stuff - they call music.

Thanks!

This song was inspired by "Rhymes of a Rolling Stone" by Robert W. Service. Bob Dylan's tribute to another master poet of the working class.

The backup singers are off-key with Bob.

Do some research on Dylan...he was not well liked for a GOOD number of years. Yes, he is a lyrical genius...no doubting that. MOST of modern music absolutely sucks...no getting around it at all. Record companies putting out total trash like Britney Spears and shunning so many talented, revolutionary - undiscovereds. The modern mainstream is just awful. I beg to differ...Dylan WAS persistent. His vocals sucked...he had to prove he was worth his salt via writing...equalling persistence.

What the hell?? Do you even realize that bob dylan had a gift? He's a poet, his lyrics are incredible. He didn't need persistence, people were begging for him. Besides, the radio hasn't been worth turning on forever, so don't bother judging modern music off it. 2008 was a great in contemporary music.

Well put, rwallacegoldaline, There's always good tunes, it's just not always what's popular. So how about some suggestions??!! I'm 24 and stuck in the 90's because I don't know many good new artists!
By: ugotbawlz. on 28 Dec 08, 09:58:39
overall, today's music is absolutely TERRIBLE in comparison with the 60s, 70s, 80s, and EARLY 90s. the crap they put out today is absolutely absurd in comparison. 50s was great stuff too.
By: ugotbawlz. on 28 Dec 08, 09:54:49
kids...learn from bob dylan. persistence is key. talk about someone who absolutely "vocally" sucked...man, one of the worst. but not everyone thought he sucked...and dude is rich because he loved what he did/does and didn't take no for an answer. now they call him a legend. what a difference opinion and persistence makes. nuff said.

What did marketing ever have to do with art any way?
By: rjam1974. on 26 Dec 08, 16:33:11
You make a valid point. There are some good albums out there but record companies seem to bury them and promote more "marketable" products, products that in all honesty is worthless in content. The only that will change is if either the record companies get a clue or a particular act that can blend lyrical content and marketability. People now seem to not want to read deep into lyrics but want things fast and quick. Refusing to take time and analyze and search out for

Version of image for abstraction and fantasy over reality.
By: rwallacegoldaline. on 21 Dec 08, 12:11:33
That's not a fair statement. You can't write it off from the get go. There where some really incredible albums released this year that most people won't ever hear, that take sincere dedication to find, not like the Coldplay b.s. None could hold water next to bob dylan though. He's a prophet. I'm 17 too.
