D whistles are more common and widespread among Irish musician and you're more likely to find scores for that pitch. buy one when you can (they're very cheap) but practice with yours for now the D tin whistle ... I myself have just picked up the tin whistle for the first time. I often use that same simple version of the song for my students at their first lesson. Its a great way to get them practicing technique and feeling like they are making music. I bother with more complex things when the time comes. Props to Ryan Dunn for the great videos!
