Quite right. People say the same about all sorts of other wonderful teachers. I heard lot of this kind of thing about John Wimber - however, when I actually read his books and watched some of his ministry sessions online, I was amazed at how calm and balanced and un-hyped his approach really was. Though there are false, manipulative, money-obsessed preachers out there, Bill isn't one of them. He just believes in God's power and the reality of His supernatural presence, and that bothers many.

But use our human picture of God as a father and a judge, he has the image from earthly fathers as bad examples, who can slip into anger that has hurt many but then look look at references how God is NOT like men (Psalm 103: merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy, for one EX), it's not hard to say (for me at least) in comparison to fathers and men authority figures I have known, God is in "a good mood."

I used to be a member of Bethel Valpo. A church plant of Bethel Redding. I was taught all of Bill's doctrine. Here's a sample. The foundation of the church is NOT built on TRUTH but LOVE. He says since everyone will have different interpretation of different scripture then we have to agree to disagree and respect the other person's difference and love them anyway. First of all Jesus said himself in John 10:30 that he and his father are one. He was fully God and fully man. Not fully A god and fully man. Also the Holy Spirit/Ghost is also referred to in the scriptures as the Spirit of God. And I didn't say God the Father God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. But if you want to be technical our commission tells us to "baptize in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit."
