Gosh.I love this song. It always makes me think of my first real relationship,if you can call it that. I was with him for almost 3 years and he was really abusive. and I finally got out of the relationship and I found someone who really loved me.

I listened to her version. I don't like it. It comes across as sort blaming and finger pointing where as Keith is singing from a place a personal loss and new realization about how his actions cost him something he loved. Far different quality.

funny thing about this song for me, I have "dedicated" it to my ex's ex after they broke up and I sat and was told how it all played out, several months later I "dedicated" it to myself after I fucked up my relationship with my ex, now several months later I can "dedicate" this song to my ex's newest ex again as she comes back to me....lol funny how life plays out, makes me wonder if we are all stupid boys.
