As a child of the 80's...You know i certainly grew up on Mr Rogers, and i sincerely hope that when i have children they can grow up watching great shows such as this one. Hope is the key word. Too much has been put into what will "sell" and that is somwhat sad; i think. What will we do W/O Fred Rogers? Damn i hope i can find his program on DVD in the future for my children. It holds in it simple, timeless lessons to be learned by youth of all generations.

When I was little, I never watched his show. I just made fun of it and thought he was a weird guy. I just got done reading about his life and watched this video and his 1997 Emmy acceptance speech, and I've got tears in my eyes. I'm 20 years old. i see what you mean but i guess thats why the robot only makes small pots at the moment. personally i think after alot of development with the robotics itself and also some research into apropriate materials for building the houses this robot could really catch on, especially in third world countries etc. when you think about it building a house is simple enough for a robot its just a question of which materials to use and how to apply them

Actually, it is difficult to construct it in reality. Why? In Material Engineering, especially in Concrete Material. We know concrete will gain its strengthening min 7 days, I means we should make bekisting (box for pouring concrete) before concrete will be poured. If we don't make bekisting, Concrete will leach to land/sand easily. I'm sorry for saying this, this idea is just a spoofing, cause who ever proposed this idea was not an engineer!!!

It is only in space for like 10 minutes. It can't reach orbital velocity (the ISS orbits at ~27500 km/h, and you can't orbit much slower than that.) This only goes a couple thousand. It goes straight up, and then descends. SpaceShipThree will most likely be orbital.

Its not far fetched, do a search on spaceship one, its basicaly the same idea except less pretty but its the same. big plane takes small plane up. releases it at a high altitude and the small plane rockets into space, comes back and lands. saves a lot of launch fuel when you compare it to a regular space launch.

Actually, from what I've read, the flight time is up to 30 minutes. Though you know when the say "up to" it means out-of-the-box on a really good day for flying, if you don't move the thing around or do much that requires tons of power. But geez, it's the most stable remote-control hovercraft of any kind that I've ever seen. Usually they wobble, but that thing has one heck of a stabilization system. This is serious stuff. It's not really a toy, it's a demonstration of a scientific concept.

Cool concept but I'm sure the flight time is very limited. It uses FOUR motors! My R/C electric Heli uses ONE motor and it only hovers for about 10 minutes. This thing also has a video camera and GPS electronics which drains even more power.

This shows the application in hardware memory. It would be like sending a robotic-driven tank somewhere. If it was attacked an lost pieces, the tank could find pieces that are still usable and pull parts back together. Also very useful in landers on other planets. Radio waves basically use pulsating frequencies.. usually for long-distance radio waves, they have to send/receieve less data which can reduce the quality.. and because they're long distance, they may pickup interference. I'm guessing on wide-open areas like in this video, they'd use long distance radio communication. :P

They should design a high velocity lifting body rather than use a plane to lift the fuselage into the air. The lifting body would be vtol as well. You could store more lifting body's in a hangar than conventional aircraft and they would fly at incredible speeds and hence arrive at destinations extremely quickly.

I wish they would explain how to go about disassembly of the rear wheel of the frame in the likelihood of a common flat tire.
