It's still relatively new to the US. In France alone, there are over 100 Power Plate studios, ranging from 1 to 30 plates. It's a fad that will stick just like Spinning. It's awesome for Rehab, chiropractors, fibromyalgia, osteoperosis, flexibility, the list goes on. Not to mention, the original Power Plate was designed to train Olympians. So it's good for the general public, people with severe disabilities, and advanced athletes. WOW!

Lazy Americans? This doesn't make Americans look good???? I was skeptical at first. However, This technology has been around for ages. Russian cosmonauts were the first to really start tapping into it. It's used to reverse the effects of zero gravity in space. So they are able to regain bone density and lean mass more efficiently when they return home. I have a bulging disc in my lower back. I use it 3-4 times a day. Here's the kicker. I use it for strenght training too. Now I'm a believer!!!

stupid gimmicks.. such crap. go to a real gym and lift weights. run, swim, climb, play a sport..

what's pathetic is how you failed to realize that the target audience for this product are athletes of any level and people who are old and as a result have difficulty exercising
By: lolll666. on 14 Sep 08, 18:29:34
this is true but just imagine the benefits if you actually worked out while using this, if these guys are getting in shape solely off of this. what it basically does is help you contract muscle groups very fast, so virtually ANY athletic sport can potentially benefit with this if one were creative enough.

How do you know NBA players use it if you show me a clip i would appreciate it (or are you just saying something for no reason like many others on youtube) thanks

And this reply doesn't make your IQ look too god either.
By: LolitaChew. on 08 May 08, 07:57:44
you can also have dynamic training. most of the NBA players, football (soccer) players work out on power plate. it's definitely not for lazy people, cause you can sweat like a pig, you're muscles increase in three weeks if you work out 3 times a week... it's great. try it first, than judge it :)

I gues its cool but takes the fun and hard earned work out of being in shape. People are too lazy now a days. If it helps with injury thats cool though.

When they can make a vibrating power chair for $60 - I'm in.
By: bastardoi. on 28 Sep 07, 16:25:12
Some people are injured and can't do that. It was demonstrated on a 80 year old lady. =/

I am a Chiropractor in Manhattan New York, I recently added the Power plate to my practice. I believe it is an excellent adjunct to a spinal rehab program. I use it for patients that are in their secondary stage of rehab after dealing with spinal disc herniations.Visit my site Dr. Steven Shoshany Chiropractor, Spinal Decompression specialist

this is no device for lazy people!!! you do your work out in static positions.. through the vibrations your muscles start to contract up to 50 times per second.. you get sweat & sore... i do it twice a week for about 15-20 minutes.. its awesome
By: JTsypkin. on 20 May 07, 22:59:45
This is pathetic. The fact that this product sells speaks volumes about the increasing laziness of Americans (and humans in general.) "Just stand there and we'll do your workout for you!" It's sad. Lift some heavy shit, run fast, jump high, eat right, sleep, wake up, do it again. That is how you get in shape. END OF STORY.
