Amazing. There may be quite a few bassists today who have attained the same level of skill on slap bass, but this man is so much more than a killer bassist. He can play, he can sing better than most preformers. So many vocalists can't hold a candle to this guy, and then he picks up a bass, and voila, one of the greatest showmen of all time.

I've played the Boss Octaver - I don't see that it's as dynamic. Agreed the bass and amp will determine the overall sound but I find the Boss Octaver too "sterile" for want of a better phrase. That's my personal opinion anyway. :)

One of our teen age highlights was running into Sun Ra ordering a hamburger at the McDonalds on San Pablo Avenue in Berkeley. He was fascinating.
