By: iChAoTiiiC. on 02 Dec 08, 02:12:23
Yeah i see what you mean, its just i seriously dont like weezy. He free verses to much, some people like that, but i dont. But yeah, saying 50's real was kinda retarded. He USED to be. Till' he got the movie. A little before too.

It's Dead Ya'll! It's Dead!
By: insertclevername14. on 01 Dec 08, 00:22:56
I see what you mean. At the same time, Wayne is just being himself, which is where he strays from those who are posturing. He also speaks to the listener and, to some people, has an engaging personality. 50 is not trying to do anything but get paid; Weezy gets his money, but he still appears on dozens of songs. Why? He loves doing it. He calls himself the best rapper in order to challenge these mainstream fools to step their game up, otherwise they're out of sales. 50's stagnant.

Disco is dead and so is Hip Hop / rap or whatever you wanna classify it as both are heavy influences on each other, so if disco died why cant this music die either ? denial much?
By: arevvera91. on 30 Nov 08, 15:09:15
that hip hop changes, doesnt mean it is dead. wouldn't it be a total bore if it was still the same as 10/20 years ago?
By: JOwhiteguy. on 30 Nov 08, 15:03:49
there is nothing real about snoop dogg he sold out , and made a mockery of what rap was about in the first place , just the fact that you think snoop dogg is keeping rap alive is the reason why it is dead right now
By: danynumero6. on 30 Nov 08, 07:59:13
Dats real man, well said. I mean there is no creativity in songs anymore. Da ones keepin it real right now I think r Nas, The Game, Chamillionaire, Lupe Fiasco, T.I., Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Bun B, and Kanye West, but even he's startin to fall off right now.

Most of these "Rappers" if you can call them that are in this for the money. They dont care about anything else but that. And theyre trying to capture the image of a thug by dressing like one. But really, the REAL gangster rappers dont really dress all ghetto and evrything do they? And thats why so many people hate hip hop now. They think thats what its all about, the money and bitches. but its not if you listen to the real stuff. (sorry i had to post in another comment, i aceeded the limit b4)
By: iChAoTiiiC. on 30 Nov 08, 05:58:06
Never said it wasnt did i? :P I agree with your other comment 100% though. The whole concept of just rapping about life and its struggles back in the day just cant compare into what hip hop is starting to become, just talking about money, what kind of girls they can get and everything. Its more public and being a "Gangsta" but having the money to back it up with their cars and clothes and everything. But some of these rappers really do need step back to let real artists have their time again.

Man that would suck if this came true
By: insertclevername14. on 30 Nov 08, 05:14:13
psh seriously? when you say weezys killing it but say 50s helping it, this is not a statement of fact, but opinion
By: insertclevername14. on 30 Nov 08, 05:13:02
That's not what I mean. I'm well aware of the talent that still exists, and I think you confuse what is meant by dead. I mean that the concept of it is broken; it is no longer directed at the initial core audience, but now its focused at the entire public. As such, simpleton artists flourish while talent is left to struggle for deals and ultimately be censored out with monopoly. It' a dead system, but only until the paradigm of record companies shifts.

I think it's time to make this official. Rap/hip hop is DEAD......... In 1997 BG came out with the song "Bling Bling" which was the beginning of the end of rap/hip hop. 12 years later look at all the rappers still putting out the same exact nonsense. 12 YEARS LATER..... 2009 will be the year Rap/hip hop officially DIED.. It's time for a new genre of music.

The hip hop on the radio is totally dead. If you actually look for it, it is still hanging on there with artists like eminem, nas, T.I, 50, yayo, banks, jeezy, game. but soulja boy, V.I.C, wayne, people like that are killing it.
By: Pacbaby1971. on 29 Nov 08, 23:10:26
your entirley different from your past. are you dead?
By: nemesis853. on 29 Nov 08, 19:16:28
if someone like naz says hiphop is dead then its means alot, but then again if someone like KRS-ONE says hiphop lives then that ,means alot
By: bushwackerluke01. on 29 Nov 08, 18:22:20
I agree with CK135P5uP for the most part when things change it should be for the better. hip hop however is dead or on a downward spiral with all the fucking garbage polluting the airwaves
