Of course it's about economics and politics. I am not going to disagree with you there. Do they have legitimate claim? Well that's debatable. Every government makes decision for economic gains. Just like the decision to invade Iraq was an economic one and had nothing to do with freeing the Iraqi people as was claim. I don't agree with a lot of thing the Chinese government does. The notion that western governments care about human rights of ethnic minority people are just laughable. Just look at the way minority people are treated in their own countries. Western government ONLY cares about the rights of ethnic minorities in other countries when there are BENEFITS for them to do so. All of those activities I just listed are very dangerous. You can run, you can hide, but where ever you go you can loose your life at any moment. Learn how to manage risk and danger, teach these principles to your kids and you will be doing more for them then trying to protect them from all the dangers by avoiding them.

I hope it all does work out. A large majority of city/towns afghan people support the government and coalition forces. Once they lived peaceful 20th century lives and they miss those times. Unfortunatly once you get out of town things get more ambiguous and hard to control but i wouldnt say this is an unwinnable war. The trick is to seal the border with pakistan and the Taliban supply system will collapse. The withdrawal from Iraq which is on the cards is going to free up a lot of troops

I am familiar with these folks- they are actually from Belize, thus the accent. Belize is a Central American country with a mixture of Amerindians (or Native Americans), Spanish and West Indian (often Trinidadian) migrants. People from the Caribbean region continue to come to New Orleans so it isn't surprising.

This accent is not a familiar New Orleans accent to me (as you know, each area of the city has their own little unique accent, one of the lovely things about New Orleans). This accent does sound somewhat Cajun French, which my mother's side of the family spoke.

TiChiKat, I am a native New Orleanian. My great Aunt had this same accent. Her younger sister, my grandmother, did not have this accent. (By the way, their parent's primary language was French. My great Aunt also spoke it. My grandmother did not.) They were born in Napoleonville and moved to NOLA as teenagers before WWI. It is one of the dying accents of the city.

I am from New Orleans area > Chalmette, St. Bernard Parish. The 9th Ward is between the City of New Orleans & Chalmette. I know the accents well. Also the Acadiana region is west of New Orleans. My family is Cajun French from Gueydan/Abbyville/Lafayette. Everyone I know suffered from Katrina but have recovered or are recovering.

I actually had the chance to go to Florida this summer and we ended up spending a day at Sea World. Now, I've always loved turtles- all of them and I finally got my chance to see Sea Turtles. I have to say, it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I decided right then that I have to be a marine biologist. I have to do something to help these beautiful animals.

i live in connecticut and the same thing is happening with the hawk. When i was a kid it was a treat to see a hawk flying and now you see them daily. Over development is a shame but its also necessary. There are too many people. Dont have more than 2 kids people. Your killing animals if you do.
