What made it fake, the fact that he was speaking the truth? The fact that we, as Christians, conform when we shouldn't? Or just because Tye was the vessel that was being used to show what our "new wave" of Christianity really is? All these things that we do now can be counted dung, because, for the most part it is not done to the glory of God, but for the praise of men. He was speaking the truth and there should be more mainstream artists that do the same. Don't back down!

im sorry to say this but that seemed so fake

you can mix light and dark period that includes talib and common.... how can you stay clean by occasionally going to the devils side...um so people who use crack on a recreational basis aren't drug addicts... c'mon man someone please be real
By: CECE012. on 29 Jul 08, 20:51:09
Yes because good would rather have you in his presence so instead of dancing to whatever type of music you listen to he would much rather you switch dance partners and dance for his glory. whatever talent you have try to use it to worship God

No sir NOT offended at all, In fact I actually LOVE THIS message, however as you so stated "that first album was way back in 2004, this is 2008...he has gotten new revelations in that 4 year period(ie this video)", thus I reiterate my question.
By: snoopyco07. on 21 Jul 08, 11:36:01
hmmm...doubt it, that first album was way back in 2004, this is 2008...he has gotten new revelations in that 4 year period(ie this video) did wat he say hit u or somthing, cause u really seem to be offened

...I wonder if he deleted Pattie's and Justin Timberlake's and ELTON JOHN, and Dark Chylde and oh the list just goes on and on (I am referring to the list of secular artists tha were thanked on the first akbum) I wonder if her still has their numbers in his phone.

Question(s): (If you get offened, you just get offened.) Should we try to get to Heaven God's way or our own way? How can bitter and sweet water flow from the same fountain? How is it that mans beliefs and opinions out weigh the word of God not the revised versions of the Bible? Why is it that modern day "Christians" are conforming to everything thing else besides the image of God? Whom still requires a HOLY life by the way.
By: gospelkeys07. on 02 Jul 08, 05:09:16
I reeeeeaally agree with you bh3art03, particularly with the second part. There's nothing wrong with R&B or even rap in a Talib Kweli or a Common way, as long as you stay a Christian and stay clean, you can do other things besides church.
By: lilmizzdragon. on 01 Jul 08, 01:54:21
oh ok
By: bh3art03. on 26 Jun 08, 20:12:42
one answer yes; if it causes you to fall further from the glory of God
By: lilmizzdragon. on 23 Jun 08, 23:04:56
but one question is it so wrong to be secular?
By: bunncat40. on 29 May 08, 00:11:50
haha i like that, thanks thats all i was tryin to put out, you cant just shut hip hop down all together because of the negative things that are in it, anything can be perverted in this world (sex) the bible says it is sacred and beautiful, but we as believers chose to take something like hip hop that has an impact on young people, and use it in a positive way, there are even secular artists who use hip hop in a positive way and uplift people, not everything about hip hop is bad, thanks florence
By: florence303. on 28 May 08, 23:41:29
I even did rap myself. And now that I am in church I listen to Holy hip hop artist like Da' Truth, Flame, John Rueben, etc as well as my genral Gospel. This is why we are in the world and not of the world. The culture of hip hop is not the problem, but the heart and the tongue is. Whatever one is, that is what is going to come out; Life or Death. For example a Homosexual is not the man, but the spirit that is on the man. A murder is not the man, but the spirit that is on the man. Get it. (smile)
By: florence303. on 28 May 08, 23:36:06
What you are saying is so true as well. People dont understand that it is not hip hop its-self, but it is the person. There all only two thing that can be given in this life; that is Life and Death. And that power the bible says in the book of James is found in the tongue. So if I am speaking of killing, lieing, stealing, etc, I am giving you death. But if I am speak of love, joy, peace and good life, I am speaking Life. Dont get me wrong, when I was in the world I listen to hip hop... continue.
By: bunncat40. on 28 May 08, 02:01:11
All in all, i except hip hop as a style of music, i take nothing more than that from it, im not involved in the hip hop culture by any means, it says in ephesians that we are to be set apart and holy, and thats the way i chose to live my life...im only 17 so i have a lot to learn, but when God convicts me why stay silent?, and again, someone PLEASE correct me if im wrong in anything that i say, im not trying to justify anything that i dont think is right, stay blessed everyone...
By: bunncat40. on 28 May 08, 01:55:16
But while i dont take part in the worldly aspects of that style of music dosnt mean i cant like the genre, even tye has hip hop elements in some of his songs, basically what im saying is that you can like a genre without necessarilly liking the culture, i like what you said about being in the world but not of it, thats really what i wanted to say..., Music is Music, and Music is Art, nothing more, with every genre comes a culture and lifestyle...continued
By: bunncat40. on 28 May 08, 01:50:20
Thanks florence, i definately understand what your sayin, basically while we are called be invest in unbelievers lives, we are still called to be set apart, so that they will see a difference in our lives and want to change..., But what i still can get pass is the element of hip hop, hip hop is a style of music, with that style comes a lifestyle, some chose to live it and others dont, as a believer i choose not to live that lifestyle but it does not glorify God...continued
By: needlesxckx. on 26 May 08, 19:57:05
I like what he;s saying and maybe he has evolved passed this message, but his latest album is has hip hop styles, their is a message in the songs but it is full of strong hip hop influence, can't deny, listen to it, might have been preaching to self anf didn't realize it can happen, and you not know because sometimes every word we get we think it for someone else and not us, you can preach to self because god is talking to you and others.
By: florence303. on 25 May 08, 01:24:53
Amen, Amen!
By: GodsGrace333. on 24 May 08, 20:13:20
Tye Tribbett is preaching God's word, and those who are opposed to God's word will react negatively to His messenger. None of God's true messenger's in the Bible (including Jesus Himself) were embraced by the people they ministered to. That goes for today. God's true messengers will not be embraced by the world because the world truly hates Jesus. So, keep preaching God's Word, Tye!! The baptized believers are saying "Amen!"
By: florence303. on 19 May 08, 21:19:05
Then thats when they start thinking to themsleves; wait a minute it has to be something I know they didnt just change that way themsleves. Thats when the question start coming and then the change. But what he is saying is if we are doing what they are doing, acting like they are acting.
