F-22 is a great plane no doubt but it lacks missile capacity...what it carries inside is not enough and none of our missiles that I'm aware can outrange what the Russians have in store in their Super Flankers. In the end its about pilot and weapons not the plane. BTW our air force is about to be destroyed, OBAMA HUSSEIN wants to cut our military budget by 50%. DAMN!

of course you have the S-400 on ur side, but that's why it needs to be delted with anti-radiation missiles. don't forget man, No air defense in this world can truly destroy another nation's air force, air defenses can keep planes at bay for only some time, in order to destroy another country's air force you need to use ur own air force.

u cant upgrade a f15 to make it a strealth aircraft.... besides, updating f15s and 16s is what all the second rate countries around the world are doing. we need to be in a position second to none, which the f22 provides.. at least for now, but im sure the next gen is already ready to upstage the j10 or whatever other planes are on the near horizon.

So why build an F-22 it just seems to be a waste of money. All one has to do is upgrade F-15's and 16's but instead we just get more and more in debt. Oh well I suppose we let the congress do the math for us as we turn our heads the other way. Russians are pretty smart...all they need is a few good ones to prove they're just as capable but not enough to look like aggressors.

Yea Su-35, Su-37, and the prototype Su-47 are good planes, the problem is you have to actually build them and deploy them for them to be effective. There are currently only 15 Su-35's on active duty. There has only been 1 Su-37 that has been knowingly been built, along with the Su-47. Therefore the F-22 has no competition.

eafbak i wasn't putting down the plane its the purpose of these birds that is threatening. And yes the F-22 may be good but so is the 4th generation Su-35 and 37 along with the latest 5th generation Su-47. Also another important thing to consider its not plane to plane nowadays its missile to plane that matters and hardly anyone has talked about that. With the S-400 on our side trust me you don't want to chance your precious Raptor and it would be wise not to do so.

You obvioulsy have no idea what the F-22 is capable of. No aircraft in the WORLD is able to hang with it. At our base one F-22 took on 5 F-15's and the f-22 pilot got kills on all of them. Wasnt even close.

This is some bs if any of these planes dare to cross Russian border it'll be the same done to it as to the U-2 and the recent Georgian UAV spyplane (check the vid). I don't want to hear another report from CNN or Fox of Russian planes buzzin' USS carriers ever again. We know the real purpose of these birds and it better be used to intimidate NKorea because it sure as hell doesn't impress us.
