Nirvana rarely used this much melody, actually. Add some flange to the guitar or base and throw in some more brooding, depressed lyrics instead of sardonic ones, and then say it's similar to Nirvana. yeah in my ears it sounds lots like nirvana to, but i love them both so its okay :D their sound changed yeah, the bass went more to the background, and there came songs like why dont you get a job and pretty fly, they are nice (especialy the guitar from pretty fly) but they are just fun songs in disguise :P now The Offspring is returning a little to the old sound, but Dexters voice remains XD
