Great video- but... This panders to: what can you do for me? Barrack sells us on what he can do for us. There is no: what you can do for the society. Not quite JFK. I agree with his points on pensions- but if companies are going to go belly up: the pension can't get funded. We need more doctors: more supply-- not government intervention. No, what is sad is the fact that you don't realize that this wasn't a speech about politics. This speech supersedes politics but I doubt you even gave it a chance to find that out. If you did watch it and still come to the conclusion that Obama is simply talking good without answers, I question your ability to comprehend what he was saying. No matter how great this speech is, the greatest thing about it is that it shows Obama is much more than what many accuse him of, being just words. He stuck his throat out for Wright in this speech, and the media said he didn't distance himself enough, while calling it historic. Wright misrepresented the speech and Obama. He said he was just a politician now, that he threw him under the bus in this speech. Misrepresent he did. This is why Obama was forced to distanced himself. Truly sad.

So we should treat the extremely high crime rate of fatherless children as a coincidence. Barack was acknowledging some of the root issues of which the crime rate is a symptom. Should that be ignored, when it obviously plays a factor. I think it's obvious there's not an automatic cause and effect, but the statistics certainly indicate something, and Barack shows by example that someone can grow up without a father and be successful. He also understands that the chances are against it.

Obama is a truly talented speaker. Read his written speeches, you absorb the details and subtle writing under the speeches must easier. His ability to use metaphors and allusions are masterful in a way no one can doubt. I do not agree with all of Obama's policies, but if you are rebuking only his ability to write and speech, it is mistaken. He integrates ethos, pathos, and logos perfectly in a mixed balance into his speeches in a way that rivals the Greeks themselves.

True, and he will have problems with Evangelicals in this country, who strictly interpret the Bible. 5. Absolutely. While i do feel that slavery is wrong, i also am not a fan of sacrificing animals. get it! once again, Barack always asks people to get involved in the political process. I hear him not asking us to just trust him but to be active in our communities and actually be the change that we want to see in the world. For some reason this does not make it into national discourse but I think it is the largest difference between McCain and Obama and it is why I support Obama.
